If you have implemented the modifier, how have you done so?
You "hit the button" each turn as your only action.

Any additional information for voters?
This is a tabletop game, but it's solo and uses normal dice. Murder Soda can be replaced with w/e you want (ie. water)

The Roll options and characters are beautifully bad, some hideous graphic representations/pictures of the characters would be a great addition, for the full immersion.

Hadn't even accoured to be that a set of boardgame rules could be a submission for a gamejam, really good idea.

All the descriptions are really silly and some of the individual dice roll moves interesting. I actually think the mechanic of rolling 5 die at once is actually a brilliant idea, and quite a unique way to use the modifier. A fun game you can play by yourself!

My friend Adira ( https://adira.itch.io/ ) gave me the idea with a game she's working on. I adapted it to single player, but I can't take all the credit. Excited to play your game btw!

I guess this game would probably work better if there was another player playing as the Demon King (or alternatively having the characters targeted when the demon king rolls a 4 be determined by some other dice rolls instead of letting the player choose who gets hit), and I guess that it might be worth giving the demon king a different thing to do upon rolling a 6 if the Murder Soda is already gone/being destroyed. And the Knife Lady's 'make the demon king re-roll' did sometimes make it a bit harder to keep track of everything (especially when using a pen instead of a pencil because, y'know, re-resolving the Demon King's new attack)

But, besides those minor nitpicks, this was a pretty fun game. Was it 'so bad it's good' though? Not sure. But it was good.

Thanks for the constructive crits. It's really important to me this is a 1 player game as I'm trying to make more of those. That said adding something after a 6 is rolled would be good. Maybe a rage style attack? The Knife Lady could be clarified more - maybe specifying that she always goes first or something like that? Anyway, thanks for your opinion! If I get around to doing edits I'll make sure to add your suggestions in.

Great game but how do I download the beverage to drink?

Developer

I remember your tabletop entry from last year, and much like last year uuuuuhhh I didn't actually play this. BUT the rules and character descriptions seem pretty funny. And that title image is a work of art. Sorry for the barebones feedback but tabletop games have never been my scene.

This does seem like it would be a fun drinking game though, so maybe if I have time I'll come back to it this weekend!

Yeah its definitely a drinking game lmao. Thanks for much for the compliments! I like using this Jam to experiment with game mechanics in a cozy setting. Its super nice to get comments since this is really a VG jam.

Oh I agree this jam is perfect for experimenting with ideas, don't have to worry about polishing them too much!

And no problem, I like to give written feedback for any game I rate and let devs know what I actually think rather than just assign a number to it.
