Definitely had some nice graphics. Wish there wasn't a single save since it meant I couldn't go back to try to look for a different ending. Grinding was a bit annoying though since I didn't see any way to revive (not sure if the station revives or not since it didn't say anything about it), so I just left the second character on block and spammed black hole.

Animations are really slow for how much grinding can be needed.

Some text are worded very weirdly.

Axe event can be repeated if you say no the first time.

Thank you for your feedback!
I will be working on these issues on the next versions.

Nice game!

The strong point is certainly the portraits of the characters: they're really beautiful and the different expressions are spot on! I also found the color palette wonderful, it gives the right atmosphere! As for the battle system I think it need some balancing, if you can also find some battle background to use it makes the scene better in my opinion. Overall good work! :)

The visuals are stunning! Great job with it! The story is quite charming too. Here's some feedback:

  • There's quite a bit of typos. I saw "strength" and "who" mispelled
  • I said no to being partners but the response seems like I said yes
  • The battle difficulty spikes very quickly after breaking the first rock to the new area. Unfortunately, I don't have enough resources to actually beat the game. The carrot is too expensive and the monsters don't drop enough Xu in order for me to farm money

Thank you for playing my game and giving me feedback! This helps a lot!
I was short in time so a lot of translation/spelling erros occurred. Unfortunately, I only noticed most of them after the submission deadline. But I do plan on fixing it by the end of the jam.
A lot of people told me that the game was quite difficult, and that going against the current and not making monsters the primary source of money was not a good decision, and I recognize it now. Well, learning by making mistakes is still learning. I plan to work on all of this on a final version.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one!! The games presentation is great. Graphics and music work really well together, battle system seemed balanced although more items are definitely needed and enemies need more money. After I ate the first carrot cake I kinda struggled. I loved the earthbound style encounter system. I will say, the story didn’t really capture me too much and it did seem like it was lacking personality in my opinion. My main question I had in my mind is, “I like this quirky little character but why is she trying to save the world? What’s her motivation. And Athena Sparkle seemed a little too trusting at first. Like “I just met you but now we are going to save the world together.”I did love the quirky touches with the zooming in on the player as she screams “I LOOOOOOVE CARROT Cake!” Overall I rated the game a 4.  Good luck! I hope you will consider playing and rating my entry.

Thank you very much for playing and rating my game! This means a lot!
Well, Akeli has her personal reasons for trying to save the world (despite saving her own life), but I didn't really had the opportunity to show it. I had a lot planned for this game, but I had to keep things simple or I would risk not finishing it at all. That's the problem of being a solo dev. Too much to do and no time at all. And well, Alhena is a kid who sees a pretty scary creature being beaten by a girl in a superhero costume, promising to save her from a doomed world. But I agree with you that she trusted a little too easy. When working on a definitive version, I plan on giving the story and characters a little more work.

And I will definitely take a look at your game! This jam brought some really interesting projects. Just hope I have time to play everything!

The artwork and the atmosphere are so stunning! If they were made from scratch at the start of the contest then I must applaud the work you put into this game. I also love the music, I feel like the perfectly captures the mood you were going for.

However, I didn't finish the game. I got about 20 minutes in and gave up because it was too hard :( I kept dying and couldn't replenish my hp because the items are too expensive. Maybe you should auto restore hp at the start of a new battle? Maybe there were some ways around this that I didn't notice but I'm pretty sure I've tried walking to the edges of the map to see if there were somewhere else I was supposed to go.

Either way, I really like the visuals of your game. I feel like if this is a visual novel instead, I would feel even more intrigued. After the game jam, if you feel like publishing this game for real and expanding it further, I would definitely be interested to play it :)

Also, I like the gag about the carrot cake. That was cute.

Yes, I did all the art from scratch at the beginning of the jam. And the soundtrack (except for the Gone Beyond in the introduction) was literally my first complete attempt to make music so I'm really happy that you liked it!

About the difficulty, I'm kinda struggling to get it properly balanced.  RPGs are way more complicated than I thought! But I assure I'm working on it.

And after you break the rock that block the way at the station, you will be able to reach a Chamber that restores SE!
