This game is so cool! its got vibe like tha ao oni and ib that i use to saw in YouTube long time ago
i like that it's even have a voice in game, is that your voice? it's really fit in it
a story was pretty interesting too, little slow at first but getting more and more deep after the
chapter 2, it's kinda little hard but pretty fun game!
i am not good with loud jump scare much, so i kinda worry about it, but thank god it's not have any.
well, guess i say...
"Become Gitch hunter, but got Gitch hunted"
Yeah I was very inspired by my favorite old RPG Horror games like Ao Oni and Misao. And yeah that's my voice lol, that's why it's so monotone haha. Glad you had fun playing it!
This game was so interesting and I loved seeing my friend play it! The writing style hooked me in from the start, but then when the glitches started happening and gameplay style started changing, I was definitely super hooked. Personally, I got too spooked when the real scary things started happening, but I found each stage of the game intriguing from start to finish!
Really loved this idea and experience, really awesome take on the whole meta / glitchy gameplay!
I'm glad you enjoyed the writing, I'd say that's the part I most enjoyed making!
I was concerned about it getting too scary later on so that's totally understandable haha! Glad you enjoyed it! I'm planning to check out your game soon because the art and story seem super interesting!
This was quite the experience!
All the three parts of the game were very interesting on their own.
I loved the intro sequence with the dad, since the dialogues were very catchy and entertaining. And I enjoyed the other extra interactions with the angel and the maid - it was hilarious, more games should have npc interactions like this. The developer story was hitting home, and felt very appropriate to give some context for the events of the game. XD
The puzzle part in the middle of the game was also interesting, even the entire part of finding glitches felt a little hard (and having to remove tile by tile to walk forward, like in the train felt slow), but I liked the puzzles.
While for the last part, it surely went beyond expectations. I liked some of the chases, and the use of the rest area at the end was very clever and unique (even if not clear). Though this part, as mentioned on stream, had a lot of dull moments of walking.
At the end I really enjoyed the game. My only nitpick is that the game has three different sorts of gameplay with a clear cut between them, and you risk driving people away if they like an aspect of the game but not the others.
Here's the saved VOD:
Thanks for playing the game on stream, I'm glad you had fun with those parts! The advice you gave during the stream was super helpful and it's definitely gonna help me make the next build for this game!
I thought the idea was interesting and I liked the horror elements, but I did find using Q and interacting with things a little tedious at times. Still, I enjoyed the meta aspect of the game and think it was a fun way to spend some time. Good job!
I'm definitely considering allotting a different button instead of Q because of how weird it feels to hold the button haha, Thanks for playing!
Idea is interesting, but most of the bug fixing is just finding hidden passages etc with the q, I wish there was some kind of puzzles or stuff. Presentation is good enough. I made it to the spot where a monster appears, but kept dying and was running out of review time, so I didn't play it to the end. PS. I got a "crash"/lock once when it tried to show your logo(?) before the game started. Had to turn off and on the game again.
That's definitely true, I had a lot of hidden passage type of puzzles. If I make another version I definitely need to add a few more puzzle varieties. You got to the monster chase which is basically 95% through the game so you basically beat it, haha. Thanks for plain!
(And yeah I'm noticing a lot of errors with the videos, I'll need to see why that's happening)
So I tried this game for a bit. I got stopped at the beginning of Chapter 1 when it showed up the title. It got halted in the middle of it. I checked files from the package. Nothing of note.
I tried it multiple times, checking the events. Still the same. I'll try this again on a different laptop. But honestly the "meta" elements that I got teased from this game is fascinating.
The opening cutscene/gameplay ratio is a bit slow admittedly. I'll report more when I find a way around that whole chestnut of an issue.
Edit: I made it through that Chapter 1 issue chestnut. I'll keep playing.
So is this intentional?
Oh shoot are the video files freezing up? That's not good, I'll have to check that out. I wonder if the filesize is too big or something so it's freezing up.
And no walking on the window isn't intentional, looks like I forgot to set that tile to no-passage LMAO
Thanks for checking the game out!
I'm going to assume this is the end for realsies since the title screen doesn't look like a horror image.
Honestly I'm a bit mixed on this one. I'm not a big horror fan tbh and this stuff seems to be more of a meta Ao Oni with the way the whole "chase" sequence works. You fix bugs. Quite literally.
I do like the audio of the developer mentioning their frustration, their acceptance and hope even after everything due to the player's determination, trying to go "beyond expectations", even though it wasn't exactly said directly.
The jumpscares aren't really my thing. I scare easily and I don't like playing these types of games honestly so this sort of thing is a biased wash. I'm sure someone who likes horror games would be up their speed.
The meta elements, the autosave feature, the tileset mayhem, etc etc. That's a nice touch at least, I'll give you points for that.
Ah yeah this goes pretty heavy on the horror element, so if it’s not your thing it’s probably not gonna be a great time. But thanks again for playing it to the end, it’s good to know the puzzles are solvable (at least 8 of them) haha!
I had to get hint for the last 2 since you had to talk to the angel for one and the other requiring a bit of returning to the mines for that. I just used the 5 hint coins and reload back to keep it. I honestly was half expecting the dad to be a horror element or the autosave to keep track of events where you would "cheat" by sparing your hint coins too. But I guess that didn't happen. I would have been more amused that way.
