YAY

Watching an NPC's car drive off the edge of the world into the abyss at the very start was all I needed to know I'd like this game. Love the incorporation of the penalty theme, love that I can carjack someone else to get to work. Super good!

Developer

🤣 Thanks!

Pretty cool but the camera is just a bit nausea inducing. Also you have to do it really fast or else it gets really chaotic. Otherwise it was really fun

Developer

Interesting thanks for that feedback, I was wondering about that playing another game. I don't get nauseous for mine for some reason. Thanks for playing!

Personally I was fine with the camera movement, my friend was watching me and she told me that it bothered her a bit. I don't think it's that big of a problem, it really depends on the person I think.

This game made me broke. :( Do you have room for one extra person in your house?

Jokes aside, fun factor is where this game shines the most imo. I went in blind to see how far I could get, and thought I was doing great as within a few minutes the city was full of crashed cars. :D
Then I actually read the game description and found out I was an hour late to work, lol.

The game is silly and chaotic in a good way, it reminds me of a really old game I used to play called Midtown Madness. These cars are really something special where they're able to drive on their side. :P

Some general tips for improvement:

  • When your car lands on the wrong side it's kind of disorienting and hard to get back to the original position (though I'm not sure if this is intentional since you can easily borrow anyone's car after that)
  • I would make the cyan dot on the map that tracks the player into an arrow instead, and make it always visible on top of the dots for the other cars, so you know more easily where you are and where you're going.
  • I clipped through the map a lot, though if you're not sure how to prevent it you could also make it quicker to respawn when falling.
  • The player changes direction with the mouse, while the car doesn't. This is more of a thing that I personally had to get used to but is not a big deal, and also could be intended (?).

Btw, being able to customize your car's color is a neat little feature!

🤣

Thanks for the in depth feedback!! I appreciate it. I'll have to make some of those things better.

The general idea was that it was easy to get all out of wack but you could get out and walk or find another car. I think I underestimated how getting all disoriented could be more annoying than fun but I'm glad you had fun with it!

I loved this! What a fun little "being late for work" sandbox! You nailed the theme, too. I like the gameplay loop of earning a set income, with penalties for poor performance.

I liked how car crashes could happen organically, whether or not I was involved. The over-exaggerated rotation while driving really adds to the chaos.

A full version of this could use some polish, but it's a blast to play as-is.

Glad you enjoyed it! Sounds like you got exactly what I was going for haha😀

Funny, chaotic little game! Had to turn mouse sensitivity way down but glad you had a slider there for it. Not sure if it was just on my end, but I wasn't getting any sounds even though there were sliders for that as well.

Developer

Hmmm 🤔 there should be Sound FX, like engine idling and crash noises. I did not add music though. Thanks for playing! Glad the mouse sensitivity came in handy.

Funny how chaotic everything is! I found the camera here a little too hard to control and ended up clipping through the ground a lot. I couldn't tell which parts of that were intentionally and which weren't - and sometimes I found that frustrating. That said, I did eventually get enough of a hang of the game to play through a few days so it got easier!

Developer

Nice! Glad you were able to stick with it. The chaos was intentional haha 😁
