I really appreciate a good idle game, its been perfect to have going on my second monitor
The artwork is fantastic, loving the visuals! Your interpretation of the theme is intriguing and fun. Gameplaywise, it would have been nice to have a tutorial of some sorts... I found it difficult to understand how the upgrades were working at first and what my goal was. I was able to understand the mechanics from checking our the comments, though.
Your subtle use of the sound effects was pretty tasteful, and I really like the music choice. Its nice that you made the game save your progress, that was a pleasant surprise. Super good work on this!
really great game, very polished and has a solid gameplay loop.
now for some critiques. the font choice isnt very good and the fact that it has a different pixel size compared to the rest of the game art (mixels) makes it look off, game would have looked perfect if not for this. the UI buttons at the bottom are super detailed and having them placed on a flat colored BG/panel makes it look misplaced... i would suggest adding the same level of detail to the bottom panel as the buttons.
The lil drones are so fire great work with that! And the idea of traveling through a storage area is super fire! I definitely wish it was a bit harder like others were saying but that's hard to gague for a jam game especially for an idle one. Nice work!
Great idea, the art and music are really cool as well.
I wont repeat what everyone else has been saying, but I do think this is a nice foundation for a fun and unique idle game, Good job!
like literally everyoen else at this point, if it was harder, that would be fun, REALLY COOL CONCEPT THO WTF, i wanna steal this jkjk, but fr this is such a cool idea, just wish it was harder and more explanied instead of throwing me in, nice intro animation tho
Thank you!! I've been inspired to continue working on it, so balancing will for sure be another future target.
As I saw someone mention in the comments, great idler gameplay. However, without any sort of introduction to the mechanics, combined with the pretty long time before you are "forced" to die, lowers the gameplay aspect for me a bit. Don't get me wrong, great idle game, but not very exciting in terms of interaction. Played around for 30-40 minutes and can say it does get better once you can perma upgrade your stats (a shame that i had my manual toggle off, and missed out on that aspect). Hovering over icons to get a tooltip would already have made it much more user friendly.
Thank you! Yeah, I definitely ran out of time for more user centric features... If I had more time to test, I also definitely would have the player killed in a sooner timeframe. Having a significant portion of the game locked behind that large of a delay is not great for initial appeal/hooking the player in.
The tooltips is a great suggestion! I think I'll take it.
The game is really nice the music is really good!
i really liked the art but i didnt get why on the garage doors the shading is the
same from when there is a light above it.
the game really misses a tutorial and i didnt get how to play it from the
start at all
overall a great game!
The lighting is a good catch! My artist actually made a light overlay for the lamps that would change the background, but I didn't get around to implementing it due to the mess of rendering layers at that point in development...
Pretty nice game, but lacking a bit in information on how to play the game.
I really tried to clear the game, but have a bug that stops me from doing so... after got defeated by the Gatling gun boss, I should be able to upgrade my base before I start the next run. Unfortunately, only the 1st round I have the chance to do so... later each time I got defeated, it will auto start the next run itself.
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah... a tutorial/more explanation of the stats/mechanics was definitely in order, but we kinda ran out of time...
As for the bug, it sounds like maybe you toggled auto start without realizing what it does (which again is completely understandable because there is NOTHING to explain what it does)
The bottom right toggle switch should allow you to switch back to manual and upgrade after a run.
At the bottom right, i can toggle red or green right? Im on the red icon.
Also, can you write me a tutorial or explanation? I wanna try clear the game if its possible. XD
For sure, I was going to add a guide/text tutorial on the itch page once I found out I can still edit it. 👍
Will do when I have time.
There isn't exactly an 'end' though... just intrinsic goals like collecting all the items, hitting a certain stage, etc.
funny and fun 10/10
Thank you!!
