really simple game. has potential, but pretty bare atm... some polish would help with this, like adding particle effects and slight camera panning or shakes.
for the art, its fine... but simple ways to improve it is by having a uniform pixel size, so no mixels. also using a limited color palette helps a lot with the games visuals... try using 4 to 6 colors only next time as this would help a lot in improving your art.
feel free to check out my games as all of my solo projects use a limited color palette: https://macrowdev.itch.io
I played some of your games and they are truly amazing. I also love the way your itch.io page looks, and all your game pages. Can you give me some tips on how I can make games like yours, and also please tell me how you got your itch page to look like that.
for my games i like to use a small screen resolution size of 160x144 (gameboy resolution) this ensures i have crispy looking pixel art.
Only using a limited color palette keeps your game looking uniform, and helps add vibes to ur game.
GAME JUICE is so important, the way ur camera moves, particle effects, shaders, tweening and animations... basically everything that has to do with game feel and visuals... getting this right is what makes or breakes ur game.
For my itch pages... i use CSS to decorate my pages, u can request access through Itch support
Just to summarize:
If u can get those 3 right, u shud start seeing some improvements to ur games
My game looked really weird in the browser, the whole left side was cut off and the UI was all shifted. I had to scale it to a weird size in Unity just to make it fit properly (I think 640 by 500). Also, I was using World Space UI because in the editor, the UI kept moving around when I changed the Game view size. That fixed it in the editor, but it was still messed up in the browser.
Dang man 94 almost 100 LOL!
I loved using the 3 colors from the site and the music was simple but fit the relaxing vibe! I thought the difficulty scaled up pretty nicely which is hard for a short game! Adding in keybind options and volume sliders is also very impressive and shows you have a great grasp on game design. Nice work!
I got 44!
This game feels great to play, even with the unique keybinds, it kept me on my toes. For your second one, its very impressive how smooth this game runs. I like the RBG, staying on theme with the Pick-A-Sound colors lmao! The way you edited the green sound suits your use of the sfx very nicely.
I started trying to click the coins on beat with the song 😎 Great work on this!
Simple but great fun, and really good job conserdering its only your second game. Keep up the good work!
SOO CUTE, even tho this is simple, given this is ur 2nd game, this is so cute, and a well made game, good game loop btw, simple and effective, loved it haha, and good job getting stuff to presist across runs
Its pretty cool that you added keybinds as well as persistent audio settings!
The keybinds are a bit rough though, it would've been nice if those were also persistent as well as accessible outside of the run. Changing keybinds also triggers the input you're rebinding, which makes rebinding cost you lives if you don't also match it with the colors.
the game was really nice, i strugled a bit at the starting at figuring out what to do
so i wish there was a short tutorial, also dont add a EXIT button to web it does nothing
overall the music and the sfx were really good! the gameplay was really simple and done well!
simple yet fun game
