Thank you Moynilr for your game. The mechanic of tracing magic with the 5 dots pattern is really well thought. A very good concept. Also, I really like the color palette of colors you used and how you included the hole in the garden and her lab.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make the second spell pattern (the one in the book). I tried a lot! Maybe the orientation was wrong, I tried many.

I couldn’t find Carrot in the end. What is the tip Perita told to trace the second one? I’m curious to rety!

Thanks a lot !

I modified again a bit the book to help the understanding hopefully and the way object were display so that it a bit less dark, but I should have had it more tested before by not me for the things like that 🙃

I think I tried to make something a bit too complicated, so here spoiler if you are blocked: if it works right, the second spell is meant to be used in the hole in the garden, when you click on the paper there. It should then reveal the content of that paper, with ingredient and another spell. And it's the same for that other one, it's meant to be used when you click on the cauldron and when you have put the other ingredients in the cauldron. I hope it helps !

Anyway I really like your comics and how they are draw and the way it is published, it's really cool to make things that open and that way in general. Also Pepper and Carrot are really cute and I think there is a good balance between individual story on each episode and Pepper changing and growing and a bit of overall plot.  But really it's very well draw and pretty, and almost all items of the game and the color are totally stolen and you could probably search for all the images of the comics used for everything 🙃 And my favorite character is the little donkey !

I like the magic system you have made! I actually also wanted to do something with potions and magic spells, but could not do it due to lack of time.  Nonetheless, even if i had the time, i do not think i would end up with a good spell system like you did—i was circling around the idea of using some kind of “sentence builder” to, um, “spell the spell”, as it were.

If you do not mind, i will keep this in my notes for when i need a magic system again. I am pretty sure that it would work great as gestures in a phone’s touch screen!

I finally managed to find Carrot. Sleeping; what else! But i am ashamed to admit that i did not understand the symbol in the magic book and had to resort to the debug statements in the console (thanks for leaving them!).

In any case, i am sure this is just me being dense, because you have made a great job! Congrats!

Thank you so much ! This was my first real game that was not a tuto, so I'm very happy that somebody enjoyed it!

I didn't plan to make an inventory at first, but i did want to make a code-pin-like magic so i searched the godot assets and found an inventory (i have to add it to the credit). I didn't found a code pin so I made it, at first while drawing it followed the mouse, but I couldn't fix an offset problem when integrating it into a scene, so I removed it. I might add it to the asset library if I correct it a bit.

I'm very glad you liked the idea ! At first too I wanted to make the spell by entering  symbols, but then I didn't want to have writing in my game. And I had a phone and I thought code pins were cool.

For the book and the spell indication, now that I'm not in a great rush to finish, I realize it is totally not intuitive nor user friendly and I would not have done better had i not make it. (I think I will redraw those a little bit because some do not look like their symbol).

Thank you again! I did not try out yet the other games but I will make sure to !
