I tried to beat this and was unfortunately unable to get very far, but did enjoy the bit that I was able to get through. I think the gimmick of the sand is a great idea and definitely incorporates the theme well. I think the mechanics needed to be explained a bit better, though. I am still not fully sure if I understand the sand well, because when I throw a second sand grain at a block that is already falling because of one, it seemingly slows down the falling speed of the block temporarily, although only slightly. If this was intentional, it definitely needed to be explained in a more thorough tutorial. Another bug I encountered was at one point in the first puzzle after you get the first big block out of the way, I threw a sand grain onto the block on the right and then fell into the void at some point afterwards, except every time I respawned afterwards the block was already in a falling state from its starting position and I had to restart afterwards to progress any further. Additionally, the screen blinks briefly after death sometimes, and for a very inconsistent amount of time. I cannot tell exactly what is happening, but it looks like the player is getting transported between two different Y positions every frame until it settles on a stable position, if that helps at all. I'm sorry that I could not get very far to comment on more, but I really enjoyed playing this! Also, having an intro with a spoken backstory was fun.
I said my thing in your thread
I tried to beat the game (yes, I was baited by your post and thought I might try it myself), but ultimately was stopped by an game breaking bug, where the whole scene blinks for 5 to infinity seconds while the player cannot move nor throwing the ball. It happened after you respawned from dropping into the void. It was really frustrating to see that, but I did notice it happens way more frequently after a few deaths. Ultimately, I had to stop playing after the first cart (the red and yellow one). Although I quite like the idea and definitely see some potential, the current state of the game is quite unplayable at the moment :(

Anyway, it's sad to see the game in its current state. I hope this gets fixed soon! Keep up the good work!
Yeah That Bug Was Because I Added The Death Mechanic In Like The Last 5m Of The Jam And I Did It By Just in Update (if(transform.position.y < -15){Die()} Like Zero Bool Checks Zero Nothing. Im Def Gonna Fix That And I Have Already Added The Reset Button In My Unity Build And Let ME Tell You Makes The Game 10X Better. Plus For The Death Just Now I Remembered That I Tried A Diff Solution With Trigger colliders But Unity Was Litteraly Not Catching The Collision So With The Little Amount Of Time To Spare The Bug Was Created... Thanks For The Feedback!!!
i agree but the difficulty would be ok if i were to explain everything in the beginning and made the learning curve better bcz once my brother got the hang of it he beat it in like 8m, but before that he got stuck just like you in that exact place, Thanks for the feedback i will def make that part a bit easier when the jam is over!
