I loved it. Shame that the sticky note at the end that says “func game end()” or smthn just takes you back to the title screen cuz I normally take a screenshot of the end screen.

The fake ending was a really nice touch, glad I played the last level.

Peak jam submission.

Cool title screen. Platforming too difficult, puzzles unclear.

I really liked using of the theme as that way. Well done mate!

I had fun but some of the platforming made it too difficult to progress and it got very frustrating. felt more like a rage game than a puzzle game. but i thought the mechanics were a good idea! i also wouldve loved to pause with tab instead of p but thats just a personal preference. well done!

Developer(+1)

I never got the chance to have anyone playtest so I ended up making the platforming what I considered hard, which seems to be like a rage game lol, but I'll make it easier once the rating period is over and either add tab/esc to pause or allow you to change the keybind -w-

I would love that, if you do end up making those changes please let me know!

A fun experience but maybe I didn't reach the rubberbanding tutorial or I'm just dumb because I could not understand it's point at all. Also, only being able to jump while paused is kind of a let down when dealing with this concept. Overall good idea and execution though.

There were supposed to be levels where you used rubberbanding but I didn't have enough time, so I just left it in as an optional rewind button incase the player messes up :3

Nothing much to say, good simple and really fun game, really good theme integration and loved the vibes! didn't find any use of the shift mechanic  (backtracking?). Great job!

I had a lot of fun messing with it and I got stock at the 3rd (or was it 4th) level because for the love of the gods I can't find the exit and I accidentally drowned xd. Don't really feel liking doing all the box pushing all over again. That said, this is probably one of the better execution on the theme, a "bug" turned feature. And the puzzles are in fact enjoyable. I would love to have checkpoints or other similar mechanics so that I don't have to repeat everything  if I somehow slip and fell. Other than that I have no complaint. Good stuff.

Omg I love puzzle games. This one really made me wanna continue on and try and solve it. Loved the layouts, pausing as a part of the puzzle was done really well. It felt good to "break" the game on purpose. Got to the little winning room with the cakes, wonderful! The sound design for the block also really helped ground me where I was on the screen and made me know I was affecting the environment. Awesome work!!

way too good

cool game, i like the idea of using the pause menu!

I would have liked some hints on how to solve the first puzzle x') my brain's still smoking

Developer

I shoulda made the first place to pause obvious I fear, apologies for that -w-'
You mainly want to keep an out for these purple spots  on the surface (Like the one the player is standing below) and pause on them

I still don't know how to solve the first puzzle because I found another (maybe unintended?) bug that got me past it.  I know someone else already said this, but the difficult platforming combined with difficult puzzles can be overwhelming.  I don't think the platforming, or the puzzles by themselves were too difficult, but together they made things a bit more difficult.

I love the art despite it's simple nature, and for what it's worth the player controller is satisfying to control and I always feel in control which makes the platforming much more welcome.

This is such a fun, unique concept! Pressing pause to break the game felt very natural, I liked it a lot :)

I would avoid the pixel-precise platforming, because it takes away from the puzzle nature of the game. A good rule of thumb for puzzle games is that the time you come up with a solution and the execution time should be somewhat close (otherwise it makes every retry slow and players can get frustrated/bored)

That said, I would really love to see more. It was such a cool game, congrats on the submission! :)
