How does your game bring our theme, The Error is the Feature, to life?
My game features a "write feedback" system where the player can chose words. These words are not chosen randomly, but loosely curated in a way that I have no clue about all of the funny combinations that are possible. The system is rough and doesn't make grammatical sense, but I chose to keep it in anyway cause it was funny. Also I have a (probably common) "intentional bug" mechanic.

Did you include a fake publisher splash screen at the start of your game?

No

Did you use the Audius API in your game?

It's an interesting idea, I think it could have been implemented more simply and interestingly, but it was just a little bit missing. Cool!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Pretty funny game. It's kinda impressive given how much time you spent on this doing everything by yourself.

I really like the dialogue system, would love to see it expanded to something more robust and create consequences inside the game world.

Overall a pretty good entry, despite how short an experience it was. Would love to see it more fleshed out.

I'm glad you like it! I am also wondering about the applications this could have in a bigger game. Some more cleaver tricks and it could be pretty immersive (and still funny). Thanks for playing!

Pretty cool and funny little game!

Thank you!

Did you need some more color?

a bit short, but lovely all the way through

Thanks!

I like the feedback system on this game. I can just throw random words and see the reply.

Developer(+1)

Haha yup! Spamming works too. You can even spam so fast that the developer doesn't get a chance to reply.

Loved the feedback system, I'd definitely play more!

Interesting dialogue concept. For sure could be expanded upon. If you truly only had 8 hours into this, I am impressed. Nicely done!

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked it! If my memory and maths are correct it was 8 hours, spent as: 1,5 hours to build and program the tiny level, 3 hours to make the input system for the feedback. 3,5 hours to mix them together and some polish along with the developer answers. And then around 1 hour to fix the upload and itch page (not counted in the time to make the game itself).

Wow, feedback system is great addition! How it was implemented?

Also: Did you made this game in ms paint? :)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

The feedback system uses a bunch of relevant sentences as input, then letting the player chose one of the starting words. It then checks all possible words that comes after the chosen word in the input data and makes those the next alternatives. Rinse and repeat

Glad you liked it!

(Also it was actually drawn in Krita, not paint haha)

With system like that it seems that you can have table of questions and answers. Responses seemed pretty random to me. I thought that would be cool if you had responces for each player question :)
Or doest it have responces for some and random for the rest?

Developer

Responses are random, although the plan was to make it so the pure input data sentences would map 1:1 to answers, with the rest being random. I even had this data filled in in the input, but I didn't have the time to fix it (although I realize now it would've only taken a few minutes to fix)

Id love to see a more fleshed out version where your dialoge actually causes changes in the game.

Developer

Definitely! That was the plan at first for the feedback system but I didn't have the time for it sadly.
