Interesting and surprisingly fun game. The writing carries it a lot.
I felt it was a lot of text to read at first, and was a little confused, but after a few runs I got used to the scenarios and the game felt much quicker to play.
There are a few things I would have loved to see improved in the game though.
Overall though, this is a well made game. With a few tweaks I think it could be even better.
yeah we really messed up on the UI. We had wanted to make it compatible with phones and it just didn’t work out like we’d hoped. Designing a good UI is definitely something that takes practice.
I had a lot of fun playing this, the narrative was enjoyable to read. I played for a lot longer than i should have, Lol, and i appreciate that the points i spend on food/ water is not wasted in future runs. I think it is a bit ambitious for me to get to 100 days though haha, if there were even more text options it might be more motivating. That being said, this was a 3 day jam and the content added in that time is a lot already. I also liked that choosing an option does not always yield the same result each time. (maybe i should play more text based games, lol)
Just a note so you know, at the start i could start the game by pressing the red button when in the credits menu. also, there is a typo for survivors between choices (e.g. survirors 1 -> 0). I also bought a survivor for points at one point not sure where it went though haha.
You did say trying again is what makes the game fit the theme, but i don't really buy that haha. Despite this, it was a really fun game to play so Gg
The credits thing was on purpose. There are some bugs which we probably missed lol. Thank you for playing.
Cool game!
:D
Thank you for your comment! I've been getting a lot of really nice and supportive comments on this game and it inspires me to keep going! Thank you so much
This is really impressive work! With a few tweaks this could be an amazing game. In my opinion, it lacks a bit more sound effects to make the experience even more immersive, but even with just the button sound I was hooked and played for at least 10 minutes.
Wow! Thank you for this comment!
Beautiful game with a great plot, loved it)
I am so bad at these games but it was really fun and engaging!! Can see myself playing it a lot in the future!
Thank you! I really appreciate comments like these. My friend and I were thinking of adding some more events to the game, adding a story and fixing the UI and adding some more sound effects and sell the game for a dollar or so, in the future.
Nice one, I like text based survival games, this reminds me of DUST a lot. Cool atmospheric writing, though i wish i didn't have to scroll down to see the options every time. maybe could lay out the ui where the options are always visible? I'm not really sure how theme of the jam fits in though.
Great job though, I will probably come back to this to try to get to day 100 :)
Thanks for your comment! Yeah the next time I make a text-based game, I'm going to do the UI differently. This one I made mostly to play in browser on a phone, which works really well, but becomes painful on computer. I was also hoping to add glitch effects to the device, but unfortunately the only "glitch" is that you can glitch the meta-shop for better infinite points.
I thought this was a cool spin on how to present a text / choose your own adventure game!
Thank you! yeah I wanted to keep the choices simple, with only four choices per event on a device. I was hoping to set it up so the device glitches or causes "power ups" and so on but couldn't get to it in time.
I'm not really big on text games but this was really enjoyable, it's like a condensed rogue-lite version of 60 seconds. The writing is descriptive and well polished, paired with the aesthetic and limited control scheme it really sets the scene. it's impressive you made a complete game in only 3 days, my brother is big into text games and I could see him playing this on mobile
Thank you for your comments!
