Description
I'm not really sure about the genre, to be honest. A mix between ambiant, experimental, and progressive, I would say...? My girlfriend classified it as "esoteric", if it makes any sense for you, haha.
I used Cubase 13 and I did everything with VSTs.
I didn't have any inspiration in particular, I just followed my thought while composing, nothing more.
About the process, I started with the very first 4 bars of the tracks, that I found on guitar. I wanted something that sounds unsure and unstable. That's why I went for this minor third/major sixth arpeggio in this less common loop (4/4 - 5/4 - 4/4 - 9/8). And I basically created everything around this vibe of uncertainty and instability. I wanted something going more intense over time with some "breaks" here and there, reach a "final peak", and then let the tension fall down but without giving a resolution at the end of the track.
Message from the artist
Just thinking about the fact that these judges are going to listen to what I composed makes me happy.
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
It will depend on how you "feel" my song and listen to it, of course, but if you want a context:
"You are being forced to face your thoughts, you have no idea how to distinguish what's real and what's not, that includes your biggest fears and your worst nightmares, you are desperatly trying to find a way throught all of them, you've lost a major part of yourself forever, more than once. And you are an eternal child."

The fun time signature is really cool! Good Job!
A very good exciting composition! It conveys feelings of worry and anxiety about something... The emotions are very strange, but no less frightening. Definitely cool!
This is an interesting track. Lots of ideas! Effective use of delay on those plucks. The multiple time signatures really adds to the sense of anxiety. That finish with the descending piano is great. Good work. Thanks for making and sharing.
Very good work here. I like the piano a lot. The second half was really good. Fits that theme of trying to find someone! Good work.
Thank you very much :D
Such an interesting listen. it made me feel anxious. Then the second half comes in with a clock ticking sound which adds to the anxiety. Really cool stuff you did hear with this piece. Also like the use of the harp!
So it worked as planned, that's "good" :P
Thank you very much for listening to my song :D
Love the use of different time signatures. It works well and it isn't in your face about it as other pieces who do the same tend to be. Very haunting. Great job on this one.
Thank you for listening to my work, I'm happy you like it :D
I felt it was necessary for me to use a lot of different time signatures for the representation of emotional instability. I'm glad you love it :D
The intro to this is haunting in a way - not quite ominous as perhaps sombre and mysterious. Reeled me in almost instantly. Great layering and subtle orchestration to let the other instruments take to the forefront and shine. The pizzicato lines that come in after the 2 minute mark are really well done - I find this articulation to be the hardest to sound natural with but you've nailed it altogether here. Nice use of some minor glitching and washing out with the FX before transitioning to the final section - definitely lets some ominous elements creep in there and set the tone for the last leg of the track.
All in all, great work! This was a delight to listen to. Really like how you handled the outro - a lot of people just did a standard fade-out or set up for looping but you've incorporated a fitting end to arrangement. This was a really fun listen. Best of luck!
Thank you very much for your comment and for taking the time to listen to my work :D
I'm really happy you appreciated it.
I kind of agree with you about the pizzicato, it's pretty hard to get it right without having a sense of "too much". I was pretty worried most of the time when I was listening to it, to be honest XD
About the outro, the song has a particular meaning for me, so a fade-out or a loop was out of the question, simply. Happy you liked it too :D
And thank you very much again :D
Enjoyed my stay. The peak at around 2:50 was a nice conclusion-but-not. I'd say the track has a good quality. Nice work!
Thank you very much for your comment, I appreciate it! And thank you listening to my work :D
