Description
These tracks have been written excusively for this jam. I've used Cubase to write three orchestral pieces mixed with synthezisers. The soundtracks are hybrid atmospheric orchestral pieces.

Havet og Marah
The song is the main title screen for the game and fits also both Themes “inside my world” and the one of the submitted picture. I chose the synthesisers to resemble the vastness of the sea and the unknown things in the deep while the orchestra resembles Marah.

Rolig sjødans
Which is Norwegian for “calm sea dance”. The song is supposed to be the main music if Marah ventures thou the overworld on her little boat and shows the little and big waves she will cross over her time. It is mostly written for orchestra since Marah will be clearly in the focus.

Det skremmer meg - FLYKTE
Also Norwegian for „It scares me - flee“. This is a song companioning Marah, when she tries to flee from a dark sea creature which resembles one of her fears or one of her illnesses. I chose a mostly synthesised sound to resemble the scarry and unnatural site of the monster and also revisit the mixed idea of the main theme Have og Marah.

Message from the artist
I am an beginning composer and have currently no furthor works in OSTs for games or other media. I do my compositions as a hobby besideds my full time job as a Programmer.

While i am not norwegian i have learned the language over some years and visited the country many times and had my fondest memorys there. Thats why every song title is in norwegian.

Theme

Inside my world
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
I chose an atmospheric orchestral hybrid soundtrack for the fictional game “Havet og Marah” (which is Norwegian for “The sea and Marah”). The Game is about a little girl called Marah, who ventures through the great sea of her emotions and memories. It discovers her emotional findings and also her psychic disabillities. I chose this idea, since it fits the theme “inside my world” clearly and can also fit the submitted pictures as a scene from the game.

Love the chord progression in "Havet og Marah", very beautiful sounds here. The waltz rhythm in "Rolig sjødans" works really well to drive home the imagery of crossing waves. Nice job changing things up with the unsettling trepidation followed by impending doom in "Det skremmer meg - FLYKTE". Awesome work overall, very well composed!

Beautiful orchestration...
and "Det skremmer meg | FLYKTE" is pretty scary...
Game story kinda reminds me "RIME" ^_^

Oh my God. Magnificent. Gave me chills. A feeling of having been carried far away. It's so beautiful and sounds stunning. Thank you for sharing.

The emotions in each piece of music are diverse and fluctuating, creating a sense that a single composition can tell a story.

Really cool orchestral writing, solid composition that really makes you feel like you're on a journey on the sea! My favorite track is Det skremmer meg - FLYKTE, I loved how oppressive it was.

Great work, thanks for sharing!

The synth definitely evoked the feeling of the waves, and then the orchestra arrangement was exceptionally lovely and full. Great stuff!

Love your melodies!! I especially like the beautifully interlaced orchestral writing in Rolig sjødans. The transition from the gentle nature of the first two tracks to the dark intense feel of Det skremmer meg was unexpected, but wonderful to listen to. Great work!!!

I loved how you created the themes, they are all very beautiful. The second one was my favorite, it is very sensitive and well-crafted. I loved it!!

Very good entry, the mixing and overall quality is very high. And I agree with the others, the second track is simply amazing, the waltz time signature gives the perfect adventuring feel.

Your participation in the post brought me here!

This is an amazing work!! I'm very impressed. Everything is super well crafted and so on point! Very cohesive along the the whole OST.

It was very difficult to choose a favorite, but in the end I decided on Rolig sjødans.

ps thank you so much for sharing your approach on the mixing. I have a lot to learn from your work.

AMAZING!!

01. Great sound design and panning effects. really seems to convey the vast, unknown quality of the sea. The gradual swell of the orchestra gives the piece a nice change in flavor without every really altering the tone. I'll attribute that part of the piece to Marah beginning her journey and not yet having a full grasp of the sea.

02. A return of most of the orchestral instruments from track 1. the bassoon was a very nice addition. You really capture the sea voyage vibe with the 3/4 time signature and flute + string string pittz combo. As the piece progresses, the string section and a some brass take a bigger portion of the stage, but I think my favorite part was near the beginning.

03. Again, super great sound design. One of the best executed "unsettling piece" in the jam in my opinion. I really liked how the music evolves with the percussion and bass addition in 1:20. feels like its going from seeing a monster in the distance approaching you, to running away from it.

Overall, this is a superb entry. Your really good at naturally progressing your music to tell a story and keep it from getting repetitive.

Great work!

Gorgeous piece, nice orchestration very well composed, sounds great in the mix too. Fantastic Work. The most mind blowing thing in that is that you didn't put a single color on your tracks.

Havet og Marah: So pretty and mysterious. So many subtle elements mixed together, love the harp inclusion. Love the part at 2:05.

Rolig sjødans: Perfect overworld vibes. Love the 3/4 use.

Det skremmer meg | FLYKTE: Spooky. Reminds me of creepy ambiences like Deepnest from Hollow Knight, or Caelid from Elden Ring. Great percussion.

Great work!

Some beautifully made tracks and compositions here, I like them a lot! You did a great job communicating the different settings and themes these tracks were made for. I especially love your use of sound effects in "Det Skremmer Meg - FLYKTE" and just how epic the orchestration was in general, but all the songs were really good as well, amazingly done!

Overall just some great compositions! Although it was somewhat short with only three songs, you still managed to capture a wide array of emotions. Amazing work!

That's all I have to say, have a great day :D
