Description
I would describe the soundtrack I've composed to be similar to those found in late 90s/early 2000s RPGs. I wanted the soundtrack to feel spacey with the instrument selection and effects. The overall tone of the soundtrack feels hopeful. I use FL Studio to compose directly. I typically start by picking the key and tempo/time signature. I start with a melody and expand on it from there, changing instruments and adding/removing others. I input the notation from a casio piano that has a midi connection.
Message from the artist:
I hope to invoke feelings of hope and perseverance in the face of what feels like a long dead world.
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
The music to me sounds evocative of space. I love the image provided with the theme, which inspired the name of the game and the logo I designed. The game would be some kind of RPG where the player character would uncover the history of their long-dead civilization. Their "wish" would restore the kingdom.

This was really nice! The music you've created works really well with the title you've chosen, it feels cold but still hopeful especially for your first track. Good job overall!
Royal Observatory is so spooky! The Basson combined with that kind of clav really work together and set the tone for an immense old place filled with mysteries. It definitely fits the late 90's vibe you aimed for and I could see myself discovering a new creepy place trying to discover the truth about the old civilization :) well done!
I love this! One of my favorite entries so far (and I have already listened to quite a few haha). You nailed the frozen space RPG vibes. Your choice of instruments is just perfect. I'd love to play an RPG with this soundtrack. Great entry!
Title Theme: I get a sense of hope and also mystery of adventure form this title theme. I like that with each repetition of the theme, you add or change something to make it fresh with each repeat. The pad you use has a static-y quality that I think is cool and adds to the ambience of the frozen quality. The gentle bells and xylophone playing in the background feel like snow or glimmering icicles. Cool intro track overall!
Royal Observatory: This sounds like a frozen Luigi’s Mansion track- very spooky and chilly vibes! I like the instrumentation of the ominous pad with bass drum underlying twinkling bells, then also with the melody of what sounds like a harpsichord and bass clarinet. They all work together so well to paint the imagery of a spacey, frozen mansion/castle. Awesome work and thank you for sharing!
Great job! I love your use of bells and other percussion. Overall they were nice compositions. Nice work!
Beautiful atmosphere in the title theme. All the twinkly percussion instruments fit the icy/space/wish direction amazingly. Then a more tense atmosphere in the second track along with that waltzy 3/4 time. Great work!
I like the feel that you've gone for here, it definitely feels like it fits the picture and theme well! The dark and ambient waltz-y sound on that second track is really cool!
(I also really like the little rising flute(I think?) part at 1:07 in the first track!)
thank you! When I was working through this track I started with the location, an observatory. From there it evolved into a "royal" observatory. Which made me think of castle towers, which in turn prompted the waltz-y harpsichord.
Appreciate the feedback!
I love the tone change between the first and second track. Royal Observatory has a great ambience to it
Yeah, I felt like a shift to a minor key in the 2nd track was appropriate. It ends on a major chord though, letting the listener know it's not hopeless! Thank you for the feedback. :)
Man! You nailed it *_* When I listen the OST, I want to play an old jrpg game like Wild arms. Well done :D
Thank you, that's very high praise, and much appreciated. :)
Percussive instruments and sound effects create a frosty atmosphere in both tracks. I love that harpsichord-like instrument in Royal Observatory, also that pad that sounds reminiscent of whale song (how do you make this in FL Studio?). Nice work!
Thank you! The Pad is from LABS by Spitfire Audio. They have a plethora of different vocal, instrumental, and ambient sounds. The instrument in particular you're talking about is from the 'Siren Song' pack, it's actually called Whalesong, lol.
Haha, awesome. Thanks for the tip. I'll check these out!
