PHOSVI AND THE LAST WISH:
The Lumiphos, who were once radiant spirits of light, lost their heavenly glow to the ravages of time years ago. Now residing in Star-Shed Village, the dimmed Lumiphos' sacred Wishing Star has suddenly awakened, granting one cosmically powerful wish to the brave adventurer who reaches it. Tragically, all of Star-Shed's residents are too weak and elderly to embark on such a journey...All but one.
The fate of the Lumiphos rests on young Phosvi's shoulders. She must brave the great towers of her village and ascend to the sacred star to save her village!

Track descriptions:
1. Title: The title screen.
2. Star-Shed Village: The "home" area of the game. This track would play in the safe areas of the village where Phosvi can rest, shop and practice her platforming skills.
3. The Star: Phosvi beholds the sacred Wishing Star and learns of its history.
4. The Wishbane: Phosvi is stopped by the Wishbane—Mysterious cloaked figures bent on destroying the Wishing Star. This track plays as the Wishbane speak their monologue and explain their dark motives.
5. Confrontation: This is it—The final battle. The climax of your journey is at hand. Conquer the Wishbane, make the Last Wish and save the village.
6. Credits: An end cutscene plays. You've won! Light returns to Star-Shed Village and all of the Lumiphos. Phosvi, having selflessly braved this perilous journey, is celebrated by her people as a hero. The credits roll. "Thanks for playing!"
7. World Ambience: This track plays almost everywhere else; Any sort of challenging area before the game's climax would play this.
Message from the artist:
As listed above, I took a lot of inspiration from Hyper Light Drifter, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and Minecraft. I think Minecraft was the biggest inspiration here, mainly the earlier songs with basic and serene synths.
Enjoy!

Every sound in this OST, minus the orchestral percussion in Confrontation, was created by me in the Surge XT synth plugin.
PLEASE CREDIT ME IN THE DESCRIPTION IF YOU USE THIS IN A GAME JAM! Thank you :::)
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
The music uses reverb and synths to give off an 'ethereal' sound, relating to a magical star that grants wishes. The leitmotif, which is constantly used in the tracks, creates a kind of hopeful feeling as well as the theme of ascending to the Wishing Star. As for the story, Phosvi must wish upon a literal star to save her people.

Title: I can see myself just sitting with the game at the title screen to let the music play haha. Really liked how you let the soundtrack build up over time with the staggered layering/melody between the different synths. I do agree with the previous comment about 1:52 -- that was a bit startling for me.
The Star: Really liked how you recalled the melody from the Title!
The Wishbane: Great use and balance of the dissonance -- can also definitely see this playing in the background while there's a monologue going on.
Confrontation: Liked how you recalled on the previous melodies with a bit of variation! The epic drums were nice too haha
Star-Shed Village/Credits/Ambience: Again, cool to see that you incorporated a lot of the previous melodies in here with a calming feel to it, letting the simple melodies come and go.
I really liked your soundtracks, and they were so refreshing to listen to! It's impressive that all the synth sounds were created using Surge XT too! Great work :)
Thank you so much for your kind words and analysis! Glad you enjoyed it! :D
Love the storytelling the OST puts forth!
Thank you very much!
Great storytelling! I really enjoyed the experience, it is evident that you put a lot of detail and effort into this composition. Cheers!
Thanks!
Title: The pulsing with synth with the delay sets the stage for a space adventure right from the start! Your melody line also enhances this by making big leaps and leaving lots of distance between the notes. I really like the gradual increase in intensity with each repeat and the epic drum section was my favorite. One thing that I wanted to offer is that there are a couple places where sudden loud sounds startled me (like at 1:52) - in these instances it may be helpful to crescendo into the sound sort of like an anticipation note to prepare the listener for what’s about to happen.
Starshed Village: Brassy pedal tones sound so sweet especially in the low registers! I like your use of arpeggios, especially when you add the 7th in which adds color to the spacey, but sometimes colorless 1-5-1. This village seems so peaceful!
The Star: This is a great return of the main theme and now it makes sense that it is representing the wishing star!
The Wishbane: The use of dissonant notes in the low range feels very dark and was a good choice for this track. The instrument used for harmony sounds like an organ which I think is great for villainous songs.
Confrontation: This is a really cool action-filled version of the Wishbane theme. I like the drums and the new forward momentum with the faster tempo. I thought it was really cool to suddenly hear the main melody come back in partway into the song amidst the droning pedal tone and minor harmonies.
Credits: This is very interesting that you chose to end the game in a minor key. Somehow you use the main melody to spin it back into a more major sound which is a really cool transition back into the arpeggios from Starshed Village. This is my favorite track!
World Ambience: This is really creative that you are thinking about an actual game and filling in all the gaps of gameplay so that your OST is game ready. Overall this is a very solid soundtrack! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it! I really appreciate your criticism of Title; That was the first one I had made for the entry and I guess I should’ve revisited it later on. The minor key at the start of Credits seemed random at the time. I guess I just wanted to make the track sound deep, but I feel like it worked to portray a seemingly dark cutscene that transitions into a happy ending.
You have a nice universe, it fits the theme pretty well! It's only my opinion but I think you could improve by adding more layers to these songs, more depth. Especially since you took texture on the forehand. You have really great narrative tracks that could benefits from it!
Apart from this, I really liked the Title and Confrontation ! Everything has a good mixing and audio quality, very nice job overall, congrats :)
Thank you! Now that you mention it, it does seem a bit unlayered for a cinematic score. I was originally going for a more intimate sound, so that’s probably why I stuck with just a few instruments per track.
I absolutely loved it! The storytelling in your album is really strong and it really felt like I was embarking on a journey with Phosvi (love this name btw). The atmosphere you depicted here is super immersive and totally has that feeling of the once thriving civilisation now reduced to ghosts of its past. Really nice mix on those lush synths they sound lovely. Great job!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it :D
Really nice work! Nice long listen that didnt get stale (until world ambience, but I guess that ambience gets stale, especially with 10 minutes), enjoyed all of it though!
Thank you! World Ambience wasn’t really meant to be part of the score—It was more meant to be background noise for whenever the rest of the tracks weren’t playing.
Nice work! I really liked the credits music. There was some finality to it that made it feel like I just finished a special game.
Thank you very much! I forgot to mention in the description, the start of “Credits” was inspired by the credits music from the game Dead Cells. I used a similar quiet and somewhat dark mood like in Dead Cells, but then took it in a brighter direction as the song transitioned to a major key.
I appreciate that the tracks sounds like one complete package - it's very cohesive. I could definitely see these adding a lot to the overall vibe of the game you're describing!
Thank you! It seems a lot of people find the OST very cohesive, and that’s not even something I tried to focus on. I hope someone uses it for a game jam—I’d love to see how the tracks would work in a real game.
Nice use of "orchestral" synths throughout. Very cohesive soundtrack. I especially liked the battle theme Confrontation. Kept me on my toes! Also nice of you to include an entire section with Ambience. I think this entire package is ready to be used in a game.
Thank you! Yeah, I didn’t originally plan the ambience track, but after finishing the other tracks I thought that it would just torture players to loop these same short songs in so many parts of the game.
I loved it! you can definitely feel the orchestral influences of ori with that minecraft twist.
As mentioned, great cohesion between the different themes.
Congrats!
Thanks so much!
Love the synth sounds! All the tracks together gave a cool cohesive vibe. Great job!
Thank you!
