Not a big fan of dwarves, but the story was amusing. Good job!

That's what I love about them.  No matter how bad things get, they approach work the same way, and it's always funny.

One of my favorites so far! Perfect use of the theme. And good characterization having only a page to work with.

90% of the difficulty is making it fit in 1000 words.  Which is really closer to 950 when you include the template.

great read. I love me some dwarves!

Whilst I enjoyed the banter and overall tone of this one, I feel like it could use a couple more editing passes to really focus in on some of the main story aspects, as well as clean up some of the punctuation/grammar. Fun read regardless!

Good job! The climactic action was engaging and clear, and I think you did an excellent job slowly feeding background info as it was relevant and avoiding exposition dumps. I think a little proofreading would go a long way toward making the dialogue flow more smoothly - it was sometimes difficult to tell whether Hrothgar was talking about a robot, or to a robot.

Nice work squeezing a lot of action and dialogue into the word count :) I didn’t see that use of “creative resources” coming, that was pretty neat.

I did have to re-read the first few paragraphs to understand all the action as it was quite dense. I think you mentioned on discord that this is part of a series(?) but if I think about it in isolation, I think the story may be stronger without Halfdan? That would let you focus on the relationship between Hrothgar and Unas and the banter between them (“I had hoped you would have downloaded some flying lessons by now” etc etc).

Anyway just my $0.02 - it was a really neat story and fun to read!
