Two dwarves arguing the merits of non-standard parts... with a twist.  Ok I get you.  Well done.

If you can find it, in one of the previous jams, I forget which.  I wrote 'Unsanctioned Percussive Maintenance' that tells the beginning of their story.  Save that Unas had yet to earn a name and was an Eternal at the time not a Technomancer.

(1 edit)

My submission was written as a continuation for Unsanctioned Percussive Maintenance that I wrote for one of the OPR Jams before.  Save that Unas was an Eternal back then, and his actions during the Dark Elf Boarding in Unsanctioned Percussive Maintenance earned him elevation to Technomancer and a name.  I wanted to note that one of his arm plates is from his time as an Eternal and bears hammer marks from Hrothgar's hammer.  But there are only so many words I'm allowed.  Maybe some day I can write a full manuscript and give it to Tano.

90% of the difficulty is making it fit in 1000 words.  Which is really closer to 950 when you include the template.

That's what I love about them.  No matter how bad things get, they approach work the same way, and it's always funny.

Just don't wake the baby...

Thanks.  I was going to put something in that the babie's cries were disrupting the legion, and that's why they were playing nice, but this seemed... better.

No one expects the rats to literally be in the walls... go figure.

He clairifies that the elf tortured his daughter at one point.  The elf just cut her really bad, didn't sink to that level, but hurting a man's daughter is generally lethal once dad finds out.  Regardless of how you go about doing the hurting.

Just barely made it in under the 1k limit.

I wouldn't call it a fight.  A young dark elf noble with no combat training vs a grizzled veteran dwarf guild lord is going to be one sided no matter how you look at it.  He wasn't fighting him, he was expressing a point, before removing the threat to his family permanently.
