Nice job! This was a great one mechanic game! I thought the core game loop of picking actions during the day and night was really solid. I also liked getting the feedback from the characters with their faces indicating mood, and the zzz if they are tired. Also loved the little bounce animations! Nice job! Thanks for doing the jam :)
Interesting game. I enjoyed the narrative that emerges from the people around the fire. I was caught somewhat off-guard when I ran out of wood and the game ended. If there was some more signposting about the importance of the fire, that would be helpful.
I also think the same as Oliver. There is a wood pile, and a food stock visible. Characters show ZzZ's when tired, etc. This setting isn't giving much feedback, except to tell that we're running short of something.
That being said, the game can become a relaxing experience, if the interface is ironed out a bit. I liked where you were going with it.
Keep it up!
Notice: I encountered an error while playing, which crashed the game:
___________________________________________ ############################################################################################ FATAL ERROR in action number 1 of Key Press Event for <Space> Key for object obj_textbox:
Variable obj_doggo.<unknown variable>(100033, -2147483648) not set before reading it. at gml_Script_change_variable ############################################################################################ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- stack frame is gml_Script_change_variable (line -1) gml_Script_command_choose_stay gml_Script_command_result gml_Script_textbox_next gml_Object_obj_textbox_KeyPress_32
I like the idea of the only mechanic being the choices. I didn't feel like I was getting any feedback from the game though, not sure how I can tell if I need wood or food etc. Maybe some visual clues, like a wood pile, food pile etc.
Thanks for playing the game and giving feedback! I didn’t know the feedback thing was that big of an issue. In the back of the camp at the right there are logs on the ground and apples/berries on a tree to show how much you have. And the players change to a sad face when their morale gets low. I’ll make this stand out more in a new update if it’s really this big of an issue.

ah I just missed that, maybe a little animation when the amount changes would help 🙂
Good job
