It took me a second to learn how to play but once i got my army in line, i died with 20 seconds left lol. Keep it up!
Too bad the camera turn when we hit obstacles, the game concept is cool, I will keep an eye in case you fix the physics later, congratulation for finishing the jam !
Good job on finishing 3D game! If I could count the number of 360° I made in the last couple of minutes, I would be out of fingers very soon :D. On the brighter note, you have implemented quite nice minimap. Interesting concept with creative story - Unfortunately, it's not crafted into something I would enjoy playing over and over.
Peak honestly.
on a serious note I do think the idea is pretty interesting, just there isn't a lot to support it, I think the player is weird to control, there's no audio and the visual are passable. there's a lot to improve but I can tell you tried and this game is extremely funny which is a big plus.
Thank you for the feedback.
If you can think of any suggestions on how it could be improved further let me know?
I had a fun time with Late Shift. The whole eggbot herding concept is really cool, and the map UI is very nice.
That said, the physics are kinda terrible at some times—I kept sliding a bit too much, and bumping into walls hurdled me in the opposite direction, which made controlling the character a massive struggle in corridors. But I believe this could be a trivial fix, maybe just locking the rotation around the players Y axis to only be controlled by the player camera and not physics interactions. Annoying but not game breaking though. Also, I accidentally noclipped through walls just by wiggling the camera, so that might be something to look into.
The UI prompt for the egg depot could have a little more style maybe but it's clear enough. And yeah, the sound is missing, but I know you didn’t have time, so no worries there. One thing I did notice is that I spent most of the game staring at the map to find eggbots. maybe adding some fog of war would make navigation less easy, and some little audio cues from the eggbots could help guide the player and lead to more intuitive and diegetic naviagtion?.
With all that criticism I don't want you to feel bad. The concept is genuinely appealing and maybe adding different levels with different layouts and timings could be really fun. The idea of running around frantically tring to find the last eggbot before the big bad fox comes is actually really good and I would like to see that developed further. And the eggbot models ARE SUPER COOOOL.
Overall, super neat idea! Just needs some polish, and I’d love to see where you take it. Keep it up!
Thank you for the great feedback.
If you can think of anything else that could improve the game let me know?
Just say managed to get this working enough to be playable.
Apologies but Sound, Music, Animation and a lot of other elements did not make it into the game.
Will continue work on this...
Any and all feedback welcome.
