Cool game! Took a moment to get the hang of the controls but chaining a couple jumps and flaps was satisfying. From reading the comments I think I would agree that having something to force you to make quicker decisions, rather than regularly standing still and cooling, could benefit this. Still a good time though, and I enjoyed the effective visuals and vocal FX. Nice one!

Very challenging platformer, that used the theme well. I really liked how the overheat was not only visual but would also affect the world (found out the hard way lol). I agree with others that the movement especially while in the air was a bit too responsive.
Great submission nonetheless.
The only thing i dont like about this game is it's too good congratulations team
I love the use of the theme "heat" where you have to keep yourself from getting a burnout, one complaint though is the controls are a little too responsive at times. Awesome game though!
Had a good time playing this one. Challenging, yet fun to play. I think you got the balance just right. Well done
Nice idea for the flying mechanic and having to cool off, found the controls for engaging the flying a little fiddly to do space + movement + shift but the animations looks really great when you’re flapping your wings! Also loved the vocal sfx for the flaps hahah!
One of my favourite games! It's really interesting and fun to play, my only complaint would be the lack of an original design for the character. Absolutely amazing mouth SFX !
This game has a cool sounddesign, which the guys apparently did themselves - my respect! However, the heating mechanics, in my opinion, is not fully thought out, because it doesn't push the player to do anything else but just stand still and cool down. Probably need some kind of motivator in the form of running enemies that would make it impossible to stay long.
Either way, I think it's a great start to developing a full-fledged platformer game!
The heating mechanic is not completely done indeed! However, the core idea of having to reach the end while using dash sparingly to avoid ending up in a burnout state, forcing you to chose to stop and cool off or do an extra jump and time your cooloff while it gets harder and harder to not completely burnout is here. In our last level there is a firewall chasing you, and it seems the global feedback is that we should’ve added that everywhere to force you to make choices!
Thanks for updating your feedback to clarify <3
why did you make dash ctrl and not shift? It feels really awkward and i made so many bookmarks while playing lol.
the cooling down mechanic feels a little bit arbitrary, not sure it really adds anything to the gameplay. still a cool game though, and the mouth sounds are funny. it also looks good visually. good job!
Heyo! Just a heads up I did a small update to use shift instead of ctrl, as it seems to be an issue for everyone :) The cooling down mechanic is here to force you to stop when you try to rush, as the game theme is around burnout. There is improvements to be made of course, and it maybe makes more sense by level 4 where you’re chased by a firewall, or with platforms burning up under your feet if you’re too hot! I’m sorry for the bookmarks <3
nice idea with an interesting mechanic! it was a little bit hard for me (i'm not so good at platformers) but overall great visuals (good work with the particles :D )

awesome game!! I really liked the rhythm that the cooldown gives the game. A little rest in between each jump section. The flying dash felt really good to control! I used my gamepad as suggested and it really enhanced the controls. Great work!
I loved the homemade whoosh sound effect. The particles were also really cool, especially the red trails that are left behind the little embers. The fire wall on the last level was really cool too, and really was enhanced by the tense music. Up until that point, there didn't feel like much of a rush. But the wall of fire finally gave the music context and it really boosted the mood of the game!
Some critiques I'd have would be that the cooldown sometimes felt a bit arbitrary. I think during the last level with the fire wall, the necessary waiting period would actually feel intense because you HAVE to cooldown to proceed, but you HAVE to move forward before the fire catches you. Perhaps that theme could be more universal to the whole game so it's always presenting the player with that dilemma?
I really dig the concept though and everything was really solid! My gameplay went pretty much perfectly except a few minor clipping through the floor when levels rebooted or changed (which you can easily jump out of so nbd). I had fun :)
Woah thanks for taking time to play and write such a great review <333 Seeing your video, a video of someone playing our game, was truly a gift! You nailed it btw!
We agree, the fire wall would force players to make quick choices. Considering that, having checkpoints would help so it doesn’t end up being too frustrating. We’ll experiment with it. It’s not well used here, but while in burnout state the character is faster. We would like to increase the burnout duration to force our players to decide whether to stop and cool off, or greed and use the extra speed (and eventual extra big dash or infinite dash!). Thanks again for your feedback, deeply appreciated <3
well i kinda confused on how to jump properly at first, but then didn't understand the burnout mechanic
Done!!! the gameplay is fun, no doubt. i spent entire minutes to just wandering of the level. The detail is also good, like the music and the sfx. My one problem would be the control is kinda weird sometimes, when i'm on the air, sometimes i couldn't press up dash, even tho i've tried. Idk if that's my problem or the game's problem. overall good gameplay and mechanic.
finished it.The concept is nice, assets are nice, i really really liked the sound effect of the dash (if it's your voice that's extra kudos). Every feature i could suggest is in the game. I can only say to change how cooling system works because it's really boring waiting for 3-4 seconds doing nothing, what about colling faster for the first half and then cooling slower so you need to wait long only for the long jumps. ohh and maybe more ways to "sabotage" the player to lose like the way you did with the destroyable floor.
Fun game and a cool mechanic, but it's very short? It's just the tutorial since on the rightmost platform there is nowhere to go?
