A little gem of a game!
Really great game, nice idea, well performed and really polished, and the mini game was a brilliant touch! Must come back to play more - Well done!
wow this was incredible! clearly alot of work was put into this! even the minigame was cool. You must of put alot of work into data perseverance. Great job! I do have two small complaints, one is that there should be a wait button for turned based games like this, or a way to end the turn early (unless I missed it) and it was odd that one of the skull pirate ships I could destroy but another I couldn't after 2 turns of firing at it. Otherwise, clearly amazing work!
Thanks for the feed back -- yea the no "end turn early" was a choice that I am not sure that I liked . If it was the bigger ship [well 3 mast instead of 2] with a red skull, that was the "boss" ship. it just slowly walks you down one space at a time -- does a lot of damage -- and has alot of HP. prob should add some kind of messaging that '"hey this thing is coming after you"
Even though the idea for the minigame is great the implementation of it is a bit rough. Other than that little thing, the game is really good overall.
Well executed!
Thank you for the feedback on the feel/implementation of the mini games
Loved it. The graphics are amazing, good use of limitation, fun mechanics, overall a great time!
This one is really really good. Starting with the visuals, they look great. The sound is also excellent and adds a good bit to game feel. The mechanics themselves are really engrossing. I just keep replaying it. Well done. Def one of the highlights of the jam for me.
Thanks! I'm glad you are enjoying it and that it has replay value
Also -- there is a secret "three coin" tavern if you are looking for a in game quest lololol
Very nice concept, very unique i think but i like it!
This game is excellent, easy to play, and feels like there are a lot of strategies to use to beat the game, I really liked it :)
I had great fun playing this! I love how the music goes faster when you have to grab the mushrooms. Great work!
I loved the game! Super original and fun, truly excelent. Props!! :D
Thanks, glad you liked it
This was super cool, Love roguelikes, great work team!
A pretty interesting game. I liked the little minigames. I feel like the sailing mechanic could be reworked, however. Did you make all the art yourself? The mushroom, coin and rum sprites look very good!
Thanks, glad you liked it. For most of the art I used open sourced assets that I had on hand that I then recolored/kit bashed/or modified to fit into a 24x24 pixel grid.
and thanks for the feedback about the sailing -- its greatly appreciated
Great presentation overall, and honestly a good experience I had fun with this one. The minigame really adds to break up the flow a bit. Amazing job!
Nice graphics, sound, and music. I liked the grid-based ship battles. Well done.
Awesome, really like the strategy part and the mushroom minigame to catch them, great job!
Amazing game!! Probably going to win the game jam, loved playing every second of it. Should add upgrades to deal more damage to the cannons, amazing amazing work :DDD
Thanks, glad you liked it. Ship upgrades was the plan if "non linear progression" ended up being the limitation, but it got cut due to time
This is really well done for the allotted time, fantastic job! I thought the combat and movement felt really good. I was unclear about how to get cargo at first but I figured it out easily enough! Love the octopus :3
Thanks, Glad you liked it
nice and polished turn based game!
This was great! I couldn't figure out what to do after I had collected mushrooms, but controls were intuitive, and I loved the monkey mini game!
I'm Glad you liked it! After you get a mushroom you would need to go to a dock with the "mushroom to rum" icon above it to for the brewing mini game.
This is top tier stuff. Very polished and well made. The art style is super neat. I also like the minigames for catching and brewing mushrooms. The only complaint I have is that I could only make two sales before I get overwhelmed by pirates. Maybe it would be better if they don't aggro unless you get in their fire range. Other than that the game is just perfect and pretty fun. Excellent work!
