I add some sizing problems on the embeded version, maybe you can solve this using better minimal webgl template, who has a fixed reference size option, or using the itch.io fullscreen option.

It was really difficult for firsts times (hardly beat 40 BPM) because I was alternating betwin protection, heal and addapted atttacks. After I read the comment about alternate heal and wind attack, and I reach easily 90BPM. Maybe you can make the "cooldown" (use the same power nerf it) stronger, and set full power spell stronger too (like for heal : heal you at full life, but take 3 turns to get back to this full heal (or somewhat like this (you get the idea)))

I spent most of the time doing the mechanics and didn't balance it properly as a consequence. Thanks for the review!

That's completely understandable, you already did a great job, especially alone !

It gets really fun after 50bpm. You could have avoided the wall of text (it wasn't that bad though) with a better element chart. I almost didn't noticed the red pixels in the clock, in the web build everything  is small and the tutorial text doesn't show up entirely. Overall, good use of the limitation and an enjoyable game

a good one, had some issues with getting the hits on time(tho that may just be me being mad) one thing I would recommend is to change the element chart  as its a tad confusing, but thats a very minor complaint. overall this was a really good concept and one the better uses of the limitation that ive seen so far. great job!

The game really was able to use the three buttons efficiently.  The art and music was very nice. The tutorial was a nice addition with it not just being dumped at the start with large blocks of text. The gameplay looked pretty repetitive at first but the additional combination moves do add a lot to the game. Does the spell damage and resistance only last a few turns?

Developer

Yes, the damage reduction and bonuses last 3 turns each. As for the art and music, I actually got them online haha. Thanks for playing!

a nice little game somewhat lacking in variety. i found that without paying attention at all to what the enemy was, i could consistently just watch the clock and alternate Healing and Water attacks to fly through the game. it took a while for me to realize that “DOWN” is the orientation to hit — is there audio that just refused to play for me?

Developer(+1)

Yes. I have found the fix and a new build with working BGM will be uploaded in a few minutes. Thank you for playing!

Pretty cool game! I think the tutorial could have been improved by parsing that information out a little bit more instead of dumping it at the start. But other than that it was pretty fun!

Developer

Yeah there were definitely better places to put the tutorial, but since I was developing solo I had to rush it slightly. Thanks for the feedback!
