Use of the limitation
The player is the one who creates the danger to themselves - it's a block breaker, but with the bullet hell feature of having to dodge the bullets that you fire.

This is a really, really good entry for the jam limitation. Having infinite ammo meant I got myself into trouble very frequently, but I always knew it was my fault so I didn't mind at all. To optimize time, I found that as the board dwindled to just a small group of blocks I would spam bullets at them and hope I won before they rebounded, which had that perfect feeling of high risk high reward. Really fun!
I have some small suggestions that I think would help enhance the experience for the player:
There were times when a ball would come at me horizontally so it was difficult or impossible to dodge. This was usually because of something I had done anyway, but it did feel a little unfair. Maybe you could add some sort of a "dash" feature that gives I-frames? It wouldn't need to be spammable. Alternatively, a lot of bullet hell games have "bombs" that clear the screen of all bullets and are limited in ammunition. Just some ideas :)
that is a really good idea with the iframe dash! I didn't think of that. Or the bomb idea really. I thought about maybe some kinds of "power ups" that appear in the player's movement path, so maybe a bomb would work well for something like that. And thanks I appreciate the kind words!
This was a lot of fun! I couldn't stop playing, I kept wanting to play more and more. I love how well built the game was and the take on the classic breakout game was too good. I loved how I had to watch how many bullets I put out or else it would come back and bite me.
This is a fun take on the classic game breakout! I love how there's two ways to play it, the slow and patient block breaking game or a bullet hell all out chaos game.
That’s a really interesting take on the limitation. Creates a nice risk-reward mechanic
Interesting variation of the classic game. Title says everything - early stage of the game is about waiting and at right moment fire more bullets. Maybe if the levels were less complex, the gameplay would be more dynamic.
How you're probably supposed to play: Strategically shoot a few balls, and carefully dodge while they do their thing.
How I played it: Shoot so many balls that the level is over before they can kill you.
I seriously had so much fun with this, it's suuuuch a clever premise and it's nice that it challenges you from a strategy perspective early on, and depending on how strategic you were, challenges you from an action perspective as well.
You did a great job making this super crisp and juicy with minimal assets, very clever use of your own time. I love it.
Thank you so much, I'm really glad you enjoyed!! Yeah I feel that this is the jam where my idea has actually come out so close to how I pictured. But thank you for your feedback!!
The idea is super interesting! Just a little too hard when reaching level 5 - I guess I need more patience! :')
Yeah I agree, I think the difficulty spike might have been a bit much going back and playing it myself haha. Thanks for playing !
Preety cool!
love the idea
this is really simple which is why it's really fun. the audio was really cool too, especially the lose sound, makes it feel like a game show
oh thank you haha I'm glad you liked that effect
I think the rotation could be changed to be slower. I like how you can essentially change your own difficulty by the amount of bullets you spawn.
This is a very neat take on a brick breaker, but still very easy to understand!
I do think the rotation and movement speed is a bit too fast, but this could just be because I seem to love spamming the spacebar.
I think the risk-reward between the danger and number of bullets is very cool! Especially the timer encouraged me to try to get as many bullets in play, providing a good challenge!
Thank you, I really appreciate that feedback!
