Hi! My name is Ross and I want to build a team for Fish Fest! I'm mainly a game designer and programmer using Unity and C#, but I also have a background in music production.  I'm looking for musicians, artists, and other game designers to team up with. Please feel free to message me if you're interested in teaming up or looking into future jams together! You can check out my page if you're interested in my gamedev portfolio, or you can check out the work I've done on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxYsnFarmN6RzIbwA9TzbyA

This is a really cool arcade experience! I had a lot of fun with it. At first I read the rules wrong and I was trying to avoid stepping into the paint, which was honestly still really challenging and fun lol. I also love the small inclusion of difficulty settings. Also the deflection feature feels really satisfying.

that is a really good idea with the iframe dash! I didn't think of that. Or the bomb idea really. I thought about maybe some kinds of "power ups" that appear in the player's movement path, so maybe a bomb would work well for something like that. And thanks I appreciate the kind words!

thank you

There is a lot of charm to this little game. I love your art style, and the story you put into this tiny game jam game. I also love the background on the itch page for the game.

Cool animation and music too. Overall just great presentation :)

You did a great job with style using limited resources! The game looks nice and the title looks fantastic! But same with the other comments, as I had trouble figuring out redirecting.

I love the little arcade style and it was really easy to start playing. I think it would be fun if it were a little more challenging! Nice and simple concept though, it works!

I think having to avoid your own path gives the game a really nice flow once you get a hang of it! The sword felt the most fun for me to play with.

I liked the cute art you made for the intro a lot! The game looks great. I think it would feel better if the birds weren't so fast or maybe if your collider was a little smaller. Sometimes I change colors and there feels like there's no time to switch back to control the chameleon.

Overall nice vibe and great job using the theme and limitation!

I like the concept and the crazy cover art

I really enjoyed how ambitious you were with implementing the different ground statuses. It gave me a lot to learn within a small game, and I overall enjoyed the experience. I also liked the cartoon presentation, it was very juicy!

My notes: I believe I had a bug where the potions would leave my hand but quickly disappear without hitting ground. I was also a bit confused on what the right click function did.

Thank you so much, I'm really glad you enjoyed!! Yeah I feel that this is the jam where my idea has actually come out so close to how I pictured. But thank you for your feedback!!

I tried to use the one on the page but it said it was invalid

I think there were some accidental UI elements? I'm not sure, but there was a black box over the right side of the screen for me. and some text that was just called "text". Otherwise I thought it felt fun to play and was a cool concept

Is this a berserk reference??

I think it looks really fantastic and plays great. The puzzles are interesting and you did a great job of tutorializing all the different gameplay mechanics. You did a lot of cool stuff with this short game jam!

I think it would be nice if a "total score" was displayed so you could track how well your run was going

Cool art style!

I think it would feel better if the projectiles shot faster

Cool and unique concept. It was challenging but not too difficult, I was able to make it to the end!

It's pretty hard to get points, but satisfying once you do. Maybe if the car was faster, or the balls were slower? Could have used some tweaking

This was such a cool mechanic, I enjoyed this! It reminds me of the game Getting Over It where you can easily lose a lot of progress, which feels frustrating but fair.

I do wish there wasn't a time limit, though, as the core mechanic does take a while to get the hang of. I also wish I had access to the later two levels to play without beating it. Maybe for game jams, it would be best to give players access to all of the levels, just so people don't feel that they need to master the game to see all you have to offer. But great job on a cool concept!

Yeah I agree, I think the difficulty spike might have been a bit much going back and playing it myself haha. Thanks for playing !

oh thank you haha I'm glad you liked that effect

Thank you, I really appreciate that feedback!

Cool game design, I like the different stages of gameplay. The addition I would make in the future is just some more signposting for how combat works. I was a bit lost at first but after the first play I got used to it

Ah yeah I noticed this as well. Glad you were able to get used to it and thanks for the feedback!

thats such a good point I hadn't even thought of the egg throwing from yoshis island :D

OOh sadly I dont have windows, but the aesthetic is cool I like the pixel art

Yeah haha I thought about Bloons too at one point when I was making it. Thanks for the feedback, about to check out your game!

Hey thank you so much! I really liked the style of your game it was super atmospheric. You have a unique style. Thanks for your feedback :)

Love the art style :)

I like the art. The window was small and hard to see. I didn't understand what I was doing but it looked interesting. Promising!

My bad, I think I goofed when I uploaded it. Currently trying to figure out where I messed up.
