cool to see diffrent takes on what is a gm
Huh. A nice twist on the group improv/story-telling.
The Unknown is a sneak, eh? I wish you'd been able to flesh out that role's motives for speaking with each person first. Maybe Unknown knows everyone in some direct or 2 Degrees of Separation indirect way. I've seen a few movies and Twilight Zone episodes with that character. It plays oddly, but creates "good" drama. There should be a break halfway through or near the climax where one of the players demands to know who the Unknown is and why they get so much say in things. Fun!
I think I want clear enough in the rules that the unknown is not also a normal player. But aside from that, it gives them an opportunity to set up asymmetric information between the characters that plays to their motivations.
I.e. The unknown talks to one player, explaining their are a deity who wants them to perform a ritual to return the sun. But this isn't the truth. So that one character will be acting in a seemingly weird way under false pretenses.
Without that chance to work the players, interesting roleplaying like that wouldn't happen. IMHO
Not a bad take on it :) You leave it open for mischief and pretty much everything else! I like it. Well done :)
