I went in expecting something a bit different from what I got, but I think it worked out well.

It's rough around the edges, especially in terms of the gameplay, but feels almost like the game is aware of it and tries to head off the worst issues at the pass. There's no real way to avoid taking damage in combat before you get a ranged attack, no real way to avoid getting hit by the boss, and it's a nightmare to try to use healing items in combat, but you have a pretty deep health reserve. Jumping feels stiff and the grapple mechanic is finicky, but there aren't any jumps in the game that require pixel perfect precision. It was surprisingly ambitious; I wasn't expecting to see an inventory or grappling at all.

I think the one exception to this is that it's pretty clearly playtested with the WASD layout and not the arrow keys. I would have preferred actions on the ZXC keys rather than being spread across the keyboard and almost requiring three hands.

The graphics are fine. I'm not a huge fan of this type of pixel art personally, but's it's fairly well executed. The audio that's in the game is good, but it's very sparse musically, and really should have menu music.

The intro feels like a bit of a shitpost, but the game feels pretty tongue-in-cheek overall so I think it fits. Not one, but two truck-kun crushing our protagonists sets the tone (was Isekai a bonus theme?). I think the one thing is that I was expecting something much more serious from the description on the page.

There are some typos and grammatical issues in the dialogue. It does feel weird having a completely different dialogue system in the intro (speech bubbles). The dialogue in game advances too slowly, but it's possible to fast-forward, so it's not a big deal.

The ending is really abrupt. I'm guessing you ran out of time?

I liked how the game looks and the main character sprite is really cute. Overall the idea is good and works well. It is kinda stiff but it works. I think you can work a little more in this one to improve it. The solid foundation is there.

I had fun playing it!

Hello ReLU!  Glad you had fun playing the game!  We had fun creating the game and being creative with the magical girl and "we will meet again" theme.

Yep, it's complete.

Really clean platformer. It's short, but sweet. The animated intro looked pretty fun.

When it comes to the game. It was solid and I liked the multi-functionality as it could be a puzzle game and fighting game at the same time. In case you want to continue working on this, I think adding some more powers would be a good idea.

Truly a good job!

Hello Wood!  Thanks for the thoughtful reply!  We did have a lot of fun creating the beginning cutscene :)  One of our goals was to include both puzzle and fighting, glad that came across.  Thanks again for the wonderful compliments!

Cute and funny! The character feels a bit heavy - perhaps adjusting the jump mechanics would help with that. Great work!

Hello Tower! Thank you for playing our first silly and fun platformer!  Thanks for the feedback and we will continue to work on improving our future games!  :)

Hello Ionku!  Thank you for appreciating our chaotic choices in the gameplay.  Glad you enjoyed our first platformer!

I like that it's a parody of Isekai story. The ultrimate attack is hilarious.

Can't figure out how to dodge the boss's attack pattern, but I press buttons fast enough to kill it before it kills me, so it's good.

Developer

Hello Sunny! We thought it would also be fun to include Isekai in the magical girl world as a silly and chaotic idea.  The boss bird is a bit rough around the edges but we figured at least Totori was beatable at the very least.  Thanks for playing!

Truck-kun strikes again!

I had fun with this short platformer. I always appreciate an in-game tutorial, great choice. The variety of mechanics was nice. Throwing the rocks initially just seemed like a puzzle-solving moment, but then they made a good weapon in the next room! The wall grapple was a good idea too!

The art was all cute and worked well. I especially liked the portrait. The story didn't go too far, but I have an idea of where it's headed. Truck-kun got a chuckle out of me, especially it's return later. XD

The controls were a little tough at times... too slippery on narrow platforms, and the wall grapple was a bit hard to use. Shot angling was nice, but again, could be a little hit-or-miss.

If you plan to keep working on this, I'd say polish the control-feel a little more and it'll really shine. Overall, great work!

Thank you Shibey for the thoughtful response! We are glad you have enjoyed our first platformer.  Our intention was initially to have more levels but we had to focus on mainly making the mechanics work this time around.   We might try other types of games and perhaps continue this current game, EZ-KAI.  Overall we are very happy with being able to put out a mini version of what we had initially imagined.  Thanks again!
