Themes
Peaceful - We didn't want to make a game with combat, so we riffed on Crazy Taxi / Simpson Road Rage. Hitting people docks points (unless you activate Evil Mode...)
The Main Mission is a Sidequest: The whole loop of the game is essentially the same thing that happens when you hit R3 in a taxi in GTA III.
Attachments after attachments: This is the big one for us- all upgrades are physically modeled on the player and they can be loaded down with a bunch of them simultaneously.

Lessons
64x64 resolution for a 3D game lets you get away with pretty basic models while still having it look pretty good. Most of the other traffic in the game is boxes on wheels with Sprite3D windows but at this resolution we can get away with it. I like having these limitations, it makes things like UI much easier to design in my opinion. Text on the other hand is brutal to work with at 64x64.

Thanks God, Truly one of the games of all time. Amazing amount of content for just a two week period.

I think the simplicity of the models translated really well in this resolution. The gameplay loop was also really good. All the fun little interactions, like launching off a ramp or getting flung by a collision made for a wild ride. Good job!

This is definitely my favorite of the driving games I've tried from the jam so far. I think the goal based driving (as opposed to time trial or whatever) really helps me forgive the poor visibility. I also the think the flat environment and the checkered grass helps me get a better sense of depth of field / actually navigate.

I was really delighted the first time I encountered a jump or bounced high in the air.

It's probably me just not being thorough, but when I opened the shop, I figured the +Mult would be the cheapest item and didn't bother scrolling through. It might be nice to sort those shop items from cheapest to most expensive, so you know what your next metric is right away.

I did encounter a weird run of luck where I got like... wombo combo'd by oncoming cars and just bounced extremely far into the grass right after picking up a fare. More funny than gamebreaking, and I don't know how you'd avoid that.

I enjoyed the car mechanics it was very fun to drive around. I got like $700 bucks drifted up next to a house to pick up a customer and I ended up getting my customer stuck on the side of the house and not being able to play anymore. Overall I had a fun experience! Solid game!

I kept killing customers accidentally and getting rammed off the road by other cars. 10/10, best Uber ride of my life :D.

Really nice idea on the gameplay and well implemented graphics. It even has a mini map, though it's use is very.... limited.

While I am not completely sure what exactly am I supposed to be doing, it is surely fun to drift all over the place! There is something oddly satisfying in driving through corn fields. And the rendering is very well executed for a 64x64 3D driving game.

Great work!

Lots of stuff packed in here for such a game jam, the glider, the knock back and especially drifting and seeing the side of the station wagon had me giggling. Reminds me of Simpsons for sure. Nice job!

Wow I'm really blown away with how much you all did within the resolution, and getting the UI squeezed in there must have truly been a herculean feat. As the other person commented, it can be a bit tough to see whats directly in front of you when you're cruising, but I can also understand how that's difficult to avoid within the limitations. Loved playing this though and I'll definitely be recommending it to others!

I also liked the "Peaceful" approach but I don't think the cows and moose around Topeka would feel that accurately described my play experience:)

It's always impressive to see 3D games pop up in low-resolution jams, and yours is no exception! I'm blown away by the presentation and amount of content in this considering you had such a short amount of time to work with. That being said, I struggled to tell what I was looking at for anything slightly in front of the car due to said low-resolution. Even when I was instructed to follow the arrow to my destination it took me a while to figure out where it was, and then took another while to figure out which way it was pointing. This isn't as much of an issue when you're moving slowly, but when you're speeding across the map you don't have a lot of time to react when the mess of pixels in front of you is suddenly revealed to be an obstacle you're supposed to dodge. Hopefully, I'm the odd one out and others don't experience this issue. Regardless it's still really impressive and it's certainly made me interested in checking out your other work! :)
