I was not able to play : ( I downloaded it but it said I needed further software. The images look great!

I added all the files to the download so I'm not sure what is causing this issue, sorry! but thanks for the kind words on the images :)

Wasn’t able to play your game given that it’s Windows only :-( (I have MacOS and Linux).

Apologies for this, don't know if I can change anything now the deadline is over. I will definitely make sure future submissions have alternative uploads for each platform :) 

You can use wine for run .exe on linux/mac.

Don't worry friend, you start with little, besides, yours is much better than others who only send the first game they have without caring if their creation has something to do with the rules of the competition. Keep it up.

The contrast between the first and second stages was great, letting me learn how the character played and get to grip with the mechanics, then bringing on the pressure with the time-sensitive second stage. The difference in tone is great too!

Some nice visual touches on display, like the parallax scrolling between foreground and background to add a sense of depth, and the tiny and charming character sprites :)

There were only a couple of issues I found - coyote time, as suggested by Hiasae, would be really helpful for some of the trickier jumps, and there were a few moments where the camera would be just a little too high for me to see where I was aiming for my next jump. Nothing game breaking though!

Really fun little platformer, and a great first game :)

(as an aside, loved reading through your devlog - reminded me a lot of making my first games, and has some great points about the importance of playtesting!)

Thank you for taking the time to play my first game and the detailed feedback is very much appreciated! 

It was also my first time using the Parallax scrolling so I'm glad you noticed that and the constraints of the resolution made this an interesting challenge to create a game in, characters especially. I shall definitely be looking into how coyote time changes the feel of the game and how to get the optimum camera angle on the character. Plenty of stuff to learn from this! :D

Thanks also for the nice comment on my devlog too, thought I would use it as something I can hopefully reflect on in the future as the starting point in my journey learning to make video games and how I learned from some of the newbie mistakes I made along the way! :p

Not bad for your first game. Just some small criticism: Maybe add input buffering or coyote time.
