I did not expect to be a plate of vegetables today! :D
If one of the goals of games is to entertain, this game certainly delivered entertainment & had me laugh out loud on more than one occasion.
Your provision of the "alt" buttons (which I initially forgot about but was glad I went back to view once reminded while re-reading your game page) and particularly the vegetables eating person turn-about shows a good sense of the comedic.
With a limited tool set you've created some quite satisfying animations--particularly the trash can ones seem to have a really nice sense of motion to the characters.
I appreciated your attention to detail when specifying that the Linux binaries weren't ARM/Pi compatible.
Perhaps the second most opinionated plate of vegetables I've ever seen outside of the one featured in the 1994 JRPG 野菜シミュレーター.
Thanks for sharing your game!
I like the humor and animations! Made me laugh! We need more of that. The tunes were groovy too.
Please try my game and rate it and let me know what you think! Thanks!
It's always good to see tiny scope projects made for a jam!
It would have been nice to see more Creative Commons licenced assets and fewer Shutterstock logos.
I enjoyed the pacing and cadence of the animations, which had good comedic sensibilities. The alternate functions were a nice touch, and the close button.
Haha, I’m glad you like it!
I would have gotten some non-Shutterstock images, although I couldn’t find any (nobody makes art of a plate of veggies). Since the game looks scuffed by itself, I thought to add images with Shutterstock logos to make it look more scuffed.
I definitely agree that having the watermarks on there, contributed that kind of grundge/DIY aesthetic and could appreciate it from that angle.
In case it's helpful for future projects, Flickr has an option for limiting searches to Creative Commons or other licence types, and there are a few possible candidates that allow for modification here. A handy tool!
Very fun game :)
Good work
