Did you learn anything new during the jam?
If this text is still here, we've learnt that my short-term memory is still rubbish

Aren't you awesome for creating a game?

This was a great blend of resource management, turn-based clicker, and base building game. The music really suited the Martian environment - and I feel the world building gave interesting terrain and you combined the available assets well. The theme discovery was good with this one too - despite their being some inadvertent discovery of the game mechanics included :D I enjoyed my play through, only wish I didn't accidentally prevent myself from exploring further afield.

really chill game trying to plan an optimal strategy. It's easy to lose quickly if you aren't paying attention to all of your resources, but on my second try I was able to make production high enough to skip everything by day 7! (I also thought you needed 150 water by the end xD)

Here's some suggestions if you plan on working on this more:
-visible grid to place things easier
-randomly generated + larger maps
-green and red text in both the top panel and side panel for production and costs
-icons for quicker reading
-idk about this one as much, but I think it would make more sense that the food win condition is based on production instead of the total food produced and I think water+power production should be part of the win condition too. I think having the goal be higher production amounts would also prevent really quick wins

I had a lot of fun playing!

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback! Some of those are things we did want to do but ran out of time as usual :D

I think we're unlikely to keep developing it at least for now, but all the things you mention are ones I'd like to improve if so!

it kinda became hard to find water, but other than that I really liked the amount of big brain this game made me use

You had me sweatin' near the end there.  From my experience, the most valuable resource in the game was actually real estate, as I feel like you can very easily bone yourself if you don't think ahead about where you want to put your stations.

I do feel like the game could have benefited from having some error messages that pop up to let the player know why that can't build certain structures in certain places.  I had to rely on trial and error in order to figure out where water pumps and mineral/ore excavators were able to be placed.

Otherwise though, I really enjoyed the relaxed nature of this one, and even though there was a time limit, it allowed me to think and plan as much as I wanted to before time progressed.  The UI for the resources was also very succinct and easy to understand, which made keeping track of my growing base a breeze.  Awesome job with this one!

As is tradition for jam games I put my hands into, the ingame feedback could use some work :D Thank you for playing!

Too realistic, I too would die on my first day on another planet. After first death everything made sense. 10/10 would wreck yet another planet for humans again.

You are probably aware, restarting the game and then pressing OK to the first dialog box crashes the game( for me at least).  I mean not a big deal for a jam game :)

At first, I didn't see the Metal costs in the build menu, I feel really stupid. Once I figured that out, it was 90% downhill from there. Only thing I struggled with was the unstable feeling of the fog of war and I can't place the buildings properly because of that. everything being sand color is not helping either I guess. Though I completed it! I was still trying to add buildings here and there until I realized I just need to click "Next Day" 15 more times and I will win this.

Thanks for the game bud. I know you put nice amount of work into the shader as well. Good work!

Thanks for playing! ❤️ We weren't actually aware of the crash bug. Do you mean it happens when you finish one playthrough, then start another one? Anyway, that's the first thing I'll investigate when I have time :)

It does indeed seem that my design of the fog of war was far from perfect - a tile of perfectly flat terrain looks identical to an undiscovered tile, which can lead to confusion (especially when an undiscovered tile is between two discovered ones). Something to improve in the future.

I got water in a lake, We will not die of thirst this day! Please ration your food though. 150 food and environment by day 23.
