It's a really fun puzzle game. I liked their catchphrases, it really captures their personalities but in block form. If possible, I would like a reset button to clear the puzzle and reset the blocks so that I don't have to manually drag that out to empty it.
for some reason i completely forgot about a reset button. thanks for the feedback!!
Smooth block and text animations, well fitting music, and filled with references.
Matched the theme perfect as well. Great job!
A very interesting usage of the theme to the block puzzle! I adore how the block shape also reflect the members, and while playing this, I can't help but have a little fanfic in my head on why each block wants to be near or away from another, pretty cool! Overall, Awesome idea, fantastic job!
Nice twist on a simple idea with a great implementation! I'm with the folks that would like to be able to be reminded of the requirements when the blocks are placed, that extra detail didn't add anything IMO (not that it took away that much either). Great work!
Very simple, yet very polished and satisfying. A simple block puzzle game that i could easily see myself picking up and playing on my phone to waste some time. All the design of a goood puzzle as well. all in all deceptively deep, well done!
... it look me longer then i care to admit to beat puzzle 5...level 7... oh...
As with all puzzle games, there were some puzzles that I solved within 30 seconds that made me feel like a genius and other puzzles that had me stumped for a while. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed solving all the puzzles in this game! The music fits well and is nice to listen to (which is really important for puzzle games especially, because players might be stuck listening to the soundtrack for a while). I really liked how the love and angst theme was applied to the puzzle mechanics here!
Not much to say that other commenters haven't already, honestly.
Love the art style and the quips for each block.
Also I like that the names were color coded when the blocks had requirements - little design details like that wouldn't be expected from a jam submission.
Super solid submission, great work, and thank you!
Cool idea! Not sure if intended, but I liked that the conditions turned out to be kind of like hints as to how to approach the puzzles. Would be nice to still be able to hover over and see the conditions after being placed instead of having to remove it to check it again.
interesting puzzle designs, i love when puzzle games hint choices that seems obvious but deceive you a lil bit and make you rethink the entire solution, some of the levels had me thinking a lot around (my first play had a lot of struggles on the first 5-ish levels and the last 2-3), think the puzzles are really cleverly designed and it made the experience quite enjoyable
the music is lovely and it does fit the ambience and doesn't get annoying after a while
fun game!
Very creative game, i liked the conditions that add to the challenge and the art and sounds are great. Unfortunately i'm slow on block puzzles but what i got to play was a lot of fun. A way to see the conditions also when the blocks are in place would be nice
Super clever idea, and executed very well! I love the minimalist design and the subtle jokes/references that come with it. Overall the game just really stands out with its uniqueness.
Some small UX related things could still be improved, such as the disappearing hints others have mentioned. Another one would be a lack of indications if the blocks you placed fulfill all conditions, such as a colored outline. Or, to combine it Alphros idea, maybe have a dynamic list of conditions in colored text (red/green) that appear when they are fulfilled or violated?
Also, one thing that I think has more to do with itch than your game: for me the game didn’t take up the whole window and some stuff overlapped weirdly. Would it be possible to enable the fullscreen button in the itch settings (as that might be a workaround)?
Anyway, all of those are really just nitpicks. To keep it short, the game is great and I had a lot fun playing it. Good job!
ill later see about adding the fullscreen button. the game it's in a pixel-sized canvas so if your monitor has more resolution than it (1152 px wide), it works. maybe yours wasn't as wide ?? ill have to check. thanks for the feedback!
Very fun game!
Love how it fits the jam theme with the needs of each block.
Each block's little dialogue bubble is great and the relationships in some levels were very well executed. I especially liked the "everybody loves Sana" level.
One issue I had was that the block requirements couldn't be checked after placing them, so I had to remove them a couple of times until I memorized the requirement, which may or may not have been the intended gameplay experience.
I enjoyed playing this game and clearing it! :D
thanks for playing the game! having to memorize the requirements (and having to put the piece in the starting position to check again) was intended. interesting to see more than one person not feeling it intuitive, ill be taking notes.
If it helps, my thought process went like this:
- Pick up a block. Put it in the box and find a possible position.
- Select the next block. Check if it has any conditions linked to the blocks already placed.
- Place next block. Repeat with the rest of the blocks.
- If a solution can't be found, remove and try placing 1-2 blocks in a different place.
For that last step, I expected to be able to remove one block and check the conditions on the rest of the blocks to find the next possible spot but instead I had to remove ALL the blocks to recheck conditions if I hadn't memorized them first.
This is such a clever twist to the "organized neatly" formula! Having to cater to the requirements of each block adds another layer of challenge to the classic block placing puzzle. Love the visual style of the blocks. Its simplistic, poppy and clean, and the whole ambience goes perfectly with the poppy music.
Just a small QOL suggestion, maybe provide a way to view the block's condition after placing it? Or have a list of requirements as a table on the side so that I can see it from a glance instead of having to remove the piece and mouseover to view them.
Thanks for participating!
