Great idea, I loved having to switch views to solve find the way and preserve battery. I would personally make the battery draining zones more damaging, as at times I was able to run through a few them to checkpoints in first person mode and not be punished.
Fun and nice maze game. I like the feature of switching between views. The pixel art is well done. The controls are easy to use, and the music and sound effects add excitement to the game.
A fun maze game! At first, I thought it was impossible to beat until I realized that in first-person view, the battery didn’t drain. I might have missed that detail, or it could be made a bit clearer somewhere in the game.
The theme was incorporated, as were the colours. The pixel art was well done, and the transition to first-person view was nice. The controls worked fine, and the music/sound effects added a sense of urgency. Some sounds might have been a bit loud for some players, but I didn’t mind them personally.
All in all, a good solid game jam entry, and I even managed to finish it! Well done! 😊
I'm surprised by how fun the gameplay loop was. The dungeon design in both first-person and third-person views reminded me of old 8-bit dungeon crawlers. It was really authentic feeling. There was a lot of motivation to switch between views with the battery draining feature, as well. A unique stealth system that would definitely be worthy of cutscenes gluing levels together.
My two cents for improvements. Make the alert sound less frequent or less high-pitched. Make the third-person view drain the battery slower. Separate things into levels with cutscenes, perhaps?
Nice game and on theme.
When going through the game I just felt that it needed something more to make it more engaging.
You had the scanners that forced you to go into top down view, but there should have also been something that forced you to go into first person view. For example a puzzle on the wall, or some kind of things that moved up and down so you had to shot it down on first person view.
Overall a great entry, had a good time playing it and actually finished it. :)
That was actually the original plan but I couldn't figure out sprite drawing in time. The 3D view is hand coded to be made by raycasting and unfortunately Godot really doesn't accommodate working that close to the pixel level without the compute shaders. Glad you enjoyed!
Nice game, really cool idea the change between 2D and 3D, maybe do some adjust in the sound, the rest is nice, i complete the game by the way and was really cool to complete it x3.
Yoooo! the raycast dual perspective is pretty neat! I didn't find much use for the first person till I read in the comments about how it didn't drain battery (Which I think makes for great design), had that been explained in game or somewhere on the pageI think It would have made for a better experience. I went back then beat the game! It would be really cool to see a dash button that eats up a ton of your energy with the tradeoff of moving faster, I think that would have been nice. Alert sound jumpscare / 10
Nice game, well done! The music was very cool!
cool game! however, volume adjustment is needed and somehow the first-person view is not clear what advantages it provides
The first person view doesn't drain battery. In older builds the battery drained much quicker but I was trying to make the game a bit easier and guess I over corrected. What issue are you having with the audio levels is it too quiet, loud, or is some mixing off? It sounds fine on my devices but that's always the fun of these web builds
loud and I still haven’t found where I can adjust the volume...
Love the look and sound of it, especially the alert sound - very cool!
