Very engaging concept, but the balancing made the experience quite rough. My main issue was never getting enough coins to ever place anything but the smallest towers. Maybe giving coins for monster kills in addition to the matched coins? However, the core mechanic is a fun matchup, and I'd definitely like to see where it goes!
I can second this review! very fun, never enough coins!
Interesting genre combo! It definitely needs some balancing, but I like the concept. I played 5 times to see how much longer I could last. Good work :)
very fast paced, maybe a bit too hectic but very interesting idea. The gold grind is very hard. Sadly I couldnt manage to build the 20 gold tower but all in all i had fun :D
really unique way to tie in different genres! it took me a while to realize how to use the coins and how to acquire towers so i died a lot in the beginning, but once i got the hang of it i really enjoyed it. after some balancing and maybe a tutorial to show the different mechanics at play here i think it would be near perfect. overall a great job, well done!
Interesting mashup of genres. I think a tutorial level would have helped explain what was going on more. I figured out I had coins, but couldn't buy anything and didn't realize I needed to not only have coins, but also find matches of the towers. I ended up finding matches of the more expensive towers, but never the cheaper ones I could actually afford and just died. With some balancing I think I think could be a lot of fun
It was kinda hectic and pretty hard to win. Really neat concept, though! I’d like to see it after it has some progress!
Very interesting concept! I don't think I've ever seen these two genres mashed together like this. I feel that there's a lot of potential here, but some rebalancing to the difficulty would be helpful. I could never get the basic tower tier and ended up losing because I was never able to build defenses. I think maybe making the basic tower tier be a free infinite option would be good since the money system keeps it fair.
Really great idea for a game. Took me a few deaths to understand what I was supposed to be doing in regards to the tower defense part, then a few more to realize the only viable approach was prioritizing the shortest, cheapest tower. Never got enough to buy the other two. I think it would have helped a lot to give each tower a more distinctive look, at least a unique paint job, as it just wasn't always easy to tell if that last one was a short one or a really short one. As others have said, the delay on flipping back over and the fast reshuffle felt especially punishing. Maybe making the cards immediately flip back over when the player starts clicking a new set would have been viable. Only got past the cats once. Anyway, all that said, really great concept and great work on your game!
Cool concept, very difficult. Increasing the time between refreshes/not locking the players controls while the cards are flipping could ease that. Very fun!
Shuffling the card after 12 seconds seems a bit harsh for a 6x4 grid. I think a 4x4 should be a bit better to balance the memory section with the current time limit.
I found myself hooked to the unique spin on this game, I just wish it was a little more forgiving, too often you either find yourself with no money, or no towers. On my second run I prioritized money and did a lot better.
neat idea with the memory game but it was a little unforgiving. Making it shuffle on a timer and then the cards taking so long to flip back over that I often found myself not getting any matches for a board before it shuffled. I would say change that to finding a number of matches so I can gather some info on the board and get the resources I needs by using my memory.
All in all a good game that I would come back to if you continued development
THanks for the game.
