Nice game, you manage to cram a lot into one's week worth.

I liked the pixel art and enemy variety. I also appreciated that gamepad is supported (but not control?)

On the cons side, the jump is difficult to control (too fast, and would deserve a variable jump height, especially when hitting enemies in the air).

I also stayed mostly on the ground floor and it was mostly fine except for a few rats that stayed up. Maybe provide an incentive to go higher the tower?

Developer

Thanks for playing our game! I agree that jumping is far from perfect. A variable jump height based on press time sounds like a great idea. Incentive wise - we hoped to tackle this by adding more content (like adding special platforms that create health pickups over time) and spreading that over the level. In the end we chose to add other content over it due to time constraints.

Neat! Fun platformer, I also enjoyed the extra insomnia and naptime mechanic implemented. Great work for a week!

Fun game, and the insomnia mechanic was a nice touch. The jumping felt a little too fast and hard to control, and the attacks could have used a little “punch” like a knockback effect or hit animation.

Developer

Thanks for playing our game!

The jump arc definitely needs some tweaking.

We considered giving enemies a stagger early one, but didn't for reasons I can't recall right now... But I agree that it would greatly improve the overall feel of the game!

Nice job! Enjoyed the variety of monsters The art was really nice. The attack range was pretty short which made the game quite challenging.

Fun game, love the art and controls really nice. Jump could use some tweaking, was very harsh now ... but overall love the gameplay

Feels pretty polished, the art is amazing and audio goes well with it too! I am a bit stuck though, it says I have 1 enemy remaining (can't find it), and I can jump up a couple platforms, but then it seems impossible to progress from there. Hopefully I've just missed something, because the game seems too polished in other regards, and I'll have to come back to it........ annnnd there's a double jump, I should have remembered from the instructions, will keep playing.... okay much better, I actually died by not being good a the game. :)

Great entry guys, my only gripe would be the jumping controls are a bit fast and hard to control, but perhaps that's intended!

Developer

Thanks for checking out our game! There is an unlockable tripple jump and jump boost in case you find the jumping too challenging. We intended to add an arrow pointing at off-screen enemies, but had to cut that feature due to time constraints :( .
