Really fun controls. I loved the Penguin and Fish models. The sliding around felt great. Only thing I didn't like was falling in the water, it felt odd how I would barely sink in.
I considered how deep it should go. I decided it wouldn't be nice to the penguin to make it fall deep in te water and it would be a nice "phew.." surprising moment for players as they don't sink in.
Cool idea! i would imagine this to be a nice minigame within a larger game.
Cool is very fitting for this game heheh
Fun! Good use of the theme and wildcards!
The leader board really makes a difference, I was determined to play until I made the top 5. :)
The leaderboard certainly made a difference! Got my friends to play a bunch before the game was published for the jam. Thank you for the kind words :)
Enjoyed this game! I'm not too good at this though. Found it a bit difficult to go around the ice. But got the hang of it after a while, and felt really good to move, position and time the jump to catch a fish. The slap/clap sound when you get a fish is satisfying. Good job on the core mechanics! The ice definitely felt fragile, so the theme is well covered. The playable main menu was well done. Felt really good to see my name on the leaderboard (I don't expect it to last very long!). The fact that the leaderboard is actually set in the game space that the character moves around in made it more immersive.
Maybe a minor glitch in the leaderboard display (screenshot attached here). Cool that you were able to add a leaderboard in the first place :) (Edit: The glitch wasn't visible when I reloaded the game.)
Glad you liked it! And sorry about the glitch, I honestly just saw it after the deadline and it never showed up in the editor/on previous testing. The leaderboard was certainlly one of the most satisfying things to implement.
Edit: seems there was a problem with the world environment, it's a shame the rating version will have this bug but it shouldn't affect gameplay at all
Nah, that was just FYI. Wouldn't worry about it affecting ratings as such. Bugs are to be expected in jam versions, and this is a minor one outside the gameplay loop.
