There are some good ideas for making a cool co-op game, but in single player the controls are particularly complicated to use.

Developer

I'll try to add co-op to the game. Thanks for feedback! ^^

Really neat gameplay and I liked how you used just a small set of rules to create that many puzzles. I was always looking forward to what the next level would be. A small thing that I would change is the transition animation when you switch players. I thought it was a bit long and disrupted the gameplay a little, as I switched a lot.

Overall it is a really great game and I had a lot of fun :D

I'm glad you had fun! I'll work on camera transitions. I tried to shorten the animation but I was not pleased with the result. I'll try to do something different about cameras. Thanks for playin ^^

I have very similar thoughts as raghunandan on the dying part. Played until level 3 then died at the middle of the level to a laser.

I loved the idea and controls ! Congrats

Actually, I died at that laser too :D Thanks for playing ^^

I liked the segregation of turning and smooth moving between the two blocks. Nice puzzle designs. Good job!

This is a really cool game! The combine powers concept is brought out in a wonderful way. I must say it was difficult learning the controls, and I was tempted to give up early on. But once I got the hang of it, solving the puzzles was very satisfying. Some cool puzzle concepts too. I played upto level three. One thing that put me off is dying due to the lasers. I think this game demands a lot of precision from the player for a puzzle game. After taking a lot of pains to reach to a certain point in the level, if the player makes a small mistake and dies, it is daunting to do it all over again from the start of the level. I think this is what happened to me on level 3. I feel the dying mechanic is more problematic than the difficult controls. However both put together would turn off a lot of people who would otherwise be very interested in playing this game. Fixing both would be great. But maybe atleast turn off the dying part, and make the laser just block access? I’m not sure if this would impact the puzzles. Dying makes the game more tense, but I don’t feel it’s necessary here. Unless you want to emphasize that as another player skill for this game. It’s your choice ultimately. Sorry about the rant. I second Spork Tank’s comment here. I really like puzzle platformers and combining powers, and I think this could be a great game, if you manage to iron out some of these issues. I wish you the best in taking this game forward, and would love to keep in touch on how it’s proceeding.

Also cool graphics! Looks very polished.

I was thinking about these problems. I was thinking about adding some kind of checkpoint system and bigger collision layer to just for blocking lasers. Making controls better was on my Trello board too. I made connecting design better after the jam ended. I want to design some levels, change the control difficulties and maybe add some puzzle mechanics too. After the jam is over, I will upload current PC version. I have to study for my exams but after that, I want to work on my game. Thanks for your interest and comment ^^

I think this is a really promising start/idea. I had some troubles though.. The controls are tough (for me at least) to use and remember. I made it through the first level after some difficulty manipulating everything for the purple lasers. For the second level I knew the solution, but again had trouble rotating/joining/attaching/detaching.. then I started getting some weird artefacts on shadows before the game ultimately crashed (web build, running on Chrome).

I would play again (on Windows this time) but I find the controls too difficult. I think the main point of this game is the puzzles, and the controls get in the way of that.

Sorry if I'm being too harsh, I do really think its a great puzzle game concept! Have you considered if the game makes sense in a purely grid-based world (no physics)? This would appeal more to casual/puzzle game players like myself.

:)

Developer

Yea I thought the grid based world at the start of the project and I discarded that idea :D. It may be cool the have a button to toggle snap position or rotation. Thanks for the feedback! I will add this to my board and experiment on it ^^

I like how clean the look is for this game. I do agree that it performed better on Firefox. After connecting to block I wasn't able to switch back to the other cube by pressing "c", but I am unsure if any of my issues were user error.

Developer

There are some bugs in the web build that does not exist in PC version. Im aware of some bugs like: being unable to change character, player freezing and other stuff. Im sorry for that I had no time to upload Windows build of the game. PC build had particles and also in that version I changed connecting code a bit later. New connecting design is better. Only some of friends and people in the one discord server with me has that PC build file for now. I will upload that version after the jam ends. Thanks for your comment, I hope you enjoyed ^_^

I did enjoy it! And I completely understand about running out of time, there is always so much that was so close to being done. Great job!

I liked this. Its a nice little puzzle game. I like the idea of the two cubes having different ways of moving and working together.
