Wow, a sim game, great job! :)

I don't know if you know this game, but it really reminded me of Caesar III, a classic strategy game which I have fond memories of. ^_^

Overall the game works pretty well, I have 2 suggestions if you like constructive feedback:

- I really missed a feature to pan around the map. Maybe it's there I just couldn't figure out. I noticed I can zoom in and out tho, which is nice.

- The pathfinding feels restrictive at times. I feel like people sometimes choose to go to the closest building. Maybe randomize it a bit more? Because often times my pricy building was just abandoned :(

Anyways, congrats on entry, loved it a lot!

Developer

Thanks !

I based it off pharaoh which is the second game made by the dev of Caesar III.

You can pan around the map with the left clic button, I should have indicated that somewhere since it wasn’t clear.

There is a randomisation ! Kinda.. tl;dr when a people exit a building he will randomly choose between every production building within 600 range of the actual building.

However as other review said, the mechanic wasn’t clear enough so that’s a point I will be working on.

Very nice strategy/simulation game, but I didn’t really understand how it works. Still entertaining for a few minutes though :)

Thanks ! As long as you enjoyed it a little I’m happy with that.

Really original concept. Got addicted, but didnt know what the hell i was doing, i think you need to make a tutorial to explain everything...

Developer

Thanks ! In the future I will add a tutorial and perhaps add hints/pop-up as well.

I unfortunately didn’t have the time to make the mechanic clearer :(

Cool concept! I liked the audio and visual feedback when a person made use of one of the buildings, but I wasn't sure at all what combo of buildings leads to a net gain of any resources :/ I definitely figured out how to lose everything though! 😅 Maybe that's the true spirit of Embracing Capitalism...

Overall a good submission! :) Would lose everything again 10/10

Thanks ! That’s the main point people are bringing up, and I guess I should have make it way clearer or have some tutorial to show the mechanic. To give you an indea, a guy will look up for the 3 closest production building and pick one at random. There is also a cycle going on (dongon -> (if exist) market -> tavern -> house -> random production -> etc.).

Between your game and mine we might be onto something about food!

This is awesome. Obviously very ambitious for a jam game but it's quite addictive. Good job on getting the isometric perspective right, and good sound effects. Quite hard initially but you figure out how things work with a bit of practice. Really well done - I love to see these kinds of games being made :D

Developer

Many thanks ! I plan to make a larger similar game in the future. It kinda is a mockup.
