High score: 24!
The blobs look great! I especially like the way you move through them, feels very satisfying, kinda like pealing off tape or stepping on freshly frozen puddles.
The only thing I found missing was a way to get out of a tight spots, as the random nature of blob and wall generation often creates unwinnable scenarios.
Short, simple, but bloody efficient!
Those kind of visual effects are exactly what I have in mind with "merge", and also exactly what I feel absolutely unable to create (... yet). But you pulled it off apparently! The magic is here!
And it's used as a clever mechanic! It's easy to understand, fast, rewarding, and fun. I really liked it.
As basic as this game is, I'm impressed at how consistent it manages to be. Great work!
Solid game for sure. I definitely liked it. Simple unique and fun!
I have to say... For such a simple game, I had a lot of fun! Your game is probably one of the most fun games out of all the submissions. Well done.
Oh, I like it! The idea is simple and was understandable even without any tutorial, but tutorial was nice touch too. I like the simplicity of art.))
This is a very nice and original take on the theme! Also technically impressive (to me, at least :-D).
The only thing I could comment is that for the poor colour-impaired ("colour blind") people like myself it is very hard to distinguish the "dark orange" from the "bright orange". A stronger contrast between colors would be great :)
Thank you! The visual effect I used in the game is called "metaballs". It seems very impressive but it's actually not that complicated once one knows how it's done. I left some links in the game description if you are interested.
Also thank you for the tip about the colors! I used a very subtle color difference for aesthetic reasons but it didn't occur to me that in fact this is a problem for people with color-blindness. I will try to keep this consideration in mind in the future!
