Fantastic game! Mechanics and visuals are impressive. Very well executed concept, I was wondering how you'd make a fishing game not boring and you absolutely did it! Great game.

Thank you so much for this epic entry into the jam - couldn't fault it! Great interpretation of the theme and wonderful execution. Had great fun playing, thanks again!

Great game, saw a small streamer struggling with final boss, I just have to try it myself. Awesome little game, very responsible character.

Simply perfect

Love this game! I have saved it to come back to so that I can try and get a perfect run! I love the different velocities of attacks/bullets, it creates a bullet hell minefield with only a single enemy, really cool! I don't know if this part was intended or not, but when you die, you come back to the same enemy but with full health this time. Honestly, I think (intentionally or not) the subtle strength boost to the player after dying is pretty cool, although with the potential side effect of devaluing the urge to stay alive at all costs. But again super fun game!

glad you liked it! I made it that way because i was a bit worried that most people wouldn't be able to finish the game in one run haha. I could have made it made more clear if you were healed between fights though.

I definitely agree with the decision! just thought it was neat to point out lol

Great polished game man well done ,How did you created that smooth rope. it would be better to multiplayer support later release (As it is a Fish catching competition).

Developer(+1)

thanks! The rope is just an array of points that is constantly updated in physics process by following some simple rules (look into Verlet Integration). then it's just a matter of drawing a line between the points in _draw.

I couldn't think of a simple way to implement the competition into the gameplay, so for the jam at least it just remained as a back story.

This was great, I love the absurdity of the game, and the difficulty was just right for me. The game is very polished too, everything feels good, and nothing is out of place.

that was very cute

Super nice. Theme, art, effects all come together.

I clicked on the game expecting a comfy fishing simulator. Boy was I wrong. I like how the game progresses into a boss fighting minigame. Very clever. Very good art.
