It took a while to get used to the controls, but once I did, it was a pretty fun metroidvania. It also makes great use of the theme.
Hehe, the controls mapping really is bad, I was just like "Ok i should just bundle the control in one space together but will probably edit it after sometime" I forgot that sometime (°–°)
I'm also glad you had fun playing it :D
Hey! I reviewed this game on my live stream. You can hear my feedback here:
Sorry you got softlock, I also didn't know that falling part (1:48:43) can softlock players (Didn't properly tested the game back then (^~^!)
Thanks for the feedback and criticism though :D
I like feeling of crawling in a dark cave, definite metroidvania vibes
I'm glad you like it. I also like dark cave-esque settings in games :D
This looks really good for a first game! and I’m not sure if the character I was playing as but I found it funny when I got the you can now push boulder ability I think the guy grew a beard haha, nice game.
Yeaaah animating legs/arms is hard hehe
Thanks though for playing and the compliment :D
I really like the atmosphere and the main character. Also, the shader was really cool after unlocking the attack evolution!
But please, add Coyote Time. There's a lot of really tight jumps in here, the game needs it. :P
Haha yeah the jumps are brutally punishing.
But thanks for the compliment and advise :D
What a weird and interesting character. I really like the look and feel of it, and how the fall/jump animation transition so fluidly (like when you glide off an edge). I did get softlocked at one point because I skipped a pickup so was lacking the dash, and had to start over.
You make some nice art and show a lot of technical depth for a first jam. Those rolling stones are really difficult to pull off in a platformer where everything has to be tight, and their rolling animation is on par with the ones in Yoshi's Island <3
If Jade is streaming your game, they're going to scream "coyote time" over and over again, just so you know. Those jumps are so hard to time :D
Thanks for the kind reply.
Also, Jade actually played this yesterday and yeah the jumping is pretty awful I agree, they pointed alot of flaws that I needed to fix and to improve. So yeah I will update this after the jam votes.
I enjoyed playing this! I liked seeing the character change with each upgrade, especially the dash. Once I got it, I was dashing everywhere I went :) I then searched for a while to track down the final upgrades, and I am happy I did because seeing the final evolution from a little worm to being able to fly out of that cave was a nice and happy ending :)
I'm glad you like it :D
fun little metrovania, the character is soo cute :-)
hehe Thanks
I liked the creature and the atmosphere. It was dark and lonely but cute in a way :D
Thank you :D
Turning red was cool. Being able to blink-dash was cool. I accidentally launched myself at mach speed to the top of the map. VERY COOL.
XD
So kickass for a first game jam, the jumping was challenging but really like how you use the metroidvania concept

I really like metroidvania, but I have a long way to go to create a proper one haha
Thanks for the feedback though
Failing to jump across platform is making me angry
Oh no, I really need to add coyote time for my jumps, sorry about that.
Nice short metroidvania! In fullscreen the attack didn't always work for some reason. Jumping across platforms did not feel as good as in most platformers, you might want to experiment with coyote time. And the dash was a little bit fast, more like a teleport, and dashing to the left was awkward because of the button mapping. Other than that I have no complaints, I liked the art and the lighting effect was a nice touch!
Thank you very much for the feedback and criticism.
Great effort. It has some lovely charm. Does the movement include coyote time? Might be worth looking into if it doesn't. I can send you some coyote time code if you like :) Again, nice design, nice game :)
I actually made my collision like this that's why it felt like it have coyote time.
Thank you for the feedback and advise :)
Great job! Once you put music to this it will be awesome! Already fun to play.
Yeah, would love to add some music and sounds in my game I kinda rushed this after procrastinating a week and cramming the development in two days heheh
Thank you for your feedback nonetheless
