Yay! This is cute. I love the little squelching sounds as it runs so much!

One change I’d suggest for the future is to not put death below the screen. There’s several spots where I have to jump down, and it’s just luck whether I’ll die or not.

If I fall too far down, then I start falling very rapidly, making it difficult to see which parts of the ground are spikes and which are safe because the screen is moving so fast and I immediately teleport after dying.

If you want to make jumps down with spikes, you could alter the camera to zoom out further, you could limit the falling speed, or you could give the slime a cute deployable parachute!

Thanks for the fun!

Good idea, I will probably make all the controls better. I think it's better to be simplistic and just to adjust the falling speed and the camera movement, because I want very nice controls. For example one of my biggest inspirations is Celest. I mean there the controls are just perfect and you have more hidden speed-mechanics, which I tried to implement with when you're falling at a specific time you can press down, to fall faster and(eventough you fall already fast ... ) and you are gaining a bit of speed for the short moment if you're jumping (combine both for the best time !).

But I hadn't enough time do more I will probably work a bit further on this game.

Thank you for your comment !

It is done !

I have done both (working and playable) windows- and linux-versions and make the game-page way prettyier. I want also to do a html/web version of it, which will come later, but it is for now playable.

If there are any other problems, please write them in the comments !

For the record, I tested the Linux build and it has the same issue as the Windows build.

When building with Godot for Windows or Linux (and not using C# / Mono), there will usually be two output files: an engine EXE and a game assets PCK. You either need to ZIP them together into a single upload, or use the "Embed Pck" option in the Export window to have the engine merge the files for you.

Thank you very much for your answer, but that would mean, that the game is unplayable during the jam.

So do you know how I can make it playable during the jam ?

Submitted

Yeah, unfortunately it appears that the game is unplayable. As far as I can tell, nothing uploaded is actually specific to the game (just stuff from the Godot engine), so there's nothing that can be done to get it to play as-is.

Since the ability to edit uploads during the rating period is disabled by the jam, there isn't really a way to fix it. There's only <12 hours left to the rating period, though, after which you will be able to fix the upload at least.

Yeah, there’s no way for me to play the game right now. Sorry.

I’m excited to check it out after the jam ends though! Thanks for providing a linux version. Let me know when you upload the necessary files!

Developer

Thank you for your encouraging words and for your help, I have done a new binary for windows and if I may post it in 12 hours, I will do so.

Developer

I have a question for you, because the windows-version of the game is not working. I want to give also them the opportunity to play it without a windows-emulator. So what can I legaly do (during the Jam) to make the game playable on windows ?

Submitted(+1)

Seems something is missing in the download. Wish I could try your game! You could add some screenshots just to give the visitors an idea of it :D

I know the Windows-Version is apparently not working, which is probably my fault. I can just recommand you to try  the linux-version of it, which worked for me (I'am on linux). If you want to do that you can do it via a windows-emulator, but I can't upload a new version of it now during the jam.

And for the page-thing, I tried my best to do it, but as a 14 y.o. guy I wasn't able to made it in time. I want to make  html/browser - versions and pictures in the future. But thank you for your comment.

I was not able to play this game. It says the download is missing its pack file. I think you have to include other stuff with the .exe file.

I'm sorry, it is probably my fault. I don't now if it is possible to upload a new version, but I guess it is not possible during the jam.

You could try else to run the linux version with a linux-emulator.

Thanks for your comment.

Cool game!

Developer

Thank you very much !

Confession: gave random rating as I did not want to risk download.

It was the first time, that I have made such an Itch.io-page. So haven't done a version, which you can play on the page. And you don't risk anything by downloding the files, they are clean. Thank you for your comment !
