I guess I took luck to another level because I did beat it first try !
The art is good, the gameplay is nice, it is a good first game :)
Some ideas for additions, should you want to improve it further once the jam is done :
The art is great, I really like it! The gameplay is fine, but you can definitely add more polish, like attacking animations, what each attack does, etc. Still, good job on completing your first game, I hope you enjoyed the process!
Would love if you can check out my game too. Thanks!
Looks neat and the concept is nice. It gets a bit buggy in the browser when you click too often.
I like the art and you could improve it a lot by just moving the character towards each other while attacking and replace the buttons. Good job overall!
I think if you had a bit more time it was nice to polish a bit more the game. The art overall is very good
The art is amazing but it could be more cohesive with the buttons and text. Otherwise pretty cool though!
thanks!
I've seen this skeleton elsewhere already, I'm not sure you really made the artwork for the game.
i might have to confront phant about that...
The animation and art in this is incredible! Really well done.
As for the gameplay, it's a bit barebones, as you note, but it reminds me a bit of a fighting minigame in some ship-based pirate game I can't remember the name of. Some more indications of what's going on would have been nice (e.g. HP bar at least for the player, some info about what each weapon does, etc.).
I'll note that "defend" seems pretty meaningless in a random damage situation where you have no way of knowing what the enemy is planning. It basically just delays the turn. (If there were multiple characters or an indication of the enemy's plans, it would be more useful.)
Overall, I liked it, in major part because of the excellent animation. Nicely done!
Fantastic sprites and animations!
I think, for a post-jam update, it'd be a good idea to have the HP totals displayed somewhere on screen as well.
i might consider it
All I can say is that it looks better than my first game jam game! XD
Thanks!
