Wow, it's complicated ngl, i would need a tutorial to understand the basic mechanics, the first thing i did was to open the recipes but then i was clueless on what i need to do and how to do it. After a bit of try and error i understood the game and it was cool to play but yup, a good tutorial is always a + !
There actually is a tutorial accessable from the menu, even though it teaches only the basic mechanics. I know this kind of game is quite complicated for people with no experience with similar games, so tutorial was a must :)
Not my type of game, but it kinda got me for a moment. It’s polished and user friendly I wanna say? So good job.
Thanks! This type of game definitely isn't for everyone, but I'm sure there's quite a few people who enjoy this kind of thing :)
I liked the hexagonal world this isn't something you see in many factory games. The time limit wasn't very obvious, but a sandbox mode would have been really cool
Thanks for playing! I thought the hexagonal grid would make it more interesting, as as you say, it's quite uncommon in factory games. I baerly managed to squeeze the normal mode into it in time, but it would definitely be one of the next things i would add. :)
Wow this was a really intricate game concept. nice job! gave me settlers of catan vibes but for letters
The UI in this is really good; it was pretty easy to understand what each thing was doing and where things were going. Building belts and things was also quick and easy, which is crucial in an automation game.
Making letters is quite an interesting take on it, though I wonder if more could have been squeezed out of it. E.g. I usually would just break down the stuff I already had if I didn't need that letter, since they produced the right parts for the next letter, or whatever. So it never really got to the point where it felt like I was building a massive efficient factory, which I think is kind of the fantasy of these types of games.
To that point, the time limit is interesting, because it adds a dimension to the automation genre that isn't usually present. I think this has its strengths and weaknesses (one of the core weaknesses being that it disincentivises making neat and efficient factories, and incentivises quick and dirty tricks). I wonder if having a timer run only once you officially start the factory up (having already built everything) would scratch both the itches? I.e. you have to make a factory to create a word/letters efficiently enough that it can create them in X seconds or whatever.
Thank you for taking the time to write extensive feedback! As you said, it has some obvious issues, the timer being one of the larger ones. It would need a redesign to make it into a fully functional game, but I hope I got the core concept across :)
Pretty cool game, it was fun to plan out how to effectively make letters in the time limit. The recipes did sometimes get a little confusing when certain letters used other letters as a component, so it might have benefitted from a difference between letters and components in the recipe screen. Overall, well made game and a cool, unique concept.
You're right, including using letters as components for other letters was probably a bad idea. Thanks for the feedback! :)
A very interesting factory game, smart but also quite hard (at least for the first minutes). Cool entry!
Thanks for playing! I wanted to make the timer system more elaborate, but as it usually is, didn't have enough time. :)
Cool game! Took a moment to wrap my head around it, so the tutorial was very helpful. Cool concept and well presented for how complicated a mechanic it is. Nice job!
Thanks for trying it out! The tutorial is very barebones, but I hoped it would at least explain the controls. :)
Fun little factory game, managed to write a couple letters!
Nice! It's a shame I didn't have time to implement actual words, for now it's randomly generated :/
