I really liked the style of the game! The mix of 3D and pixelation works really well for me. I agree with the criticism of the UI though. Also I wished there was some mure juice like hit flashes, camera shakes - I think that would add a lot to the whole franticness. Will surely play a few more rounds to see what the best tactic is. Great work!
Thanks for your kind words!
I think we added a bit off voxel blocks on the event of enemies being hit, but the sheer amount of them makes it non-visible (And the second to last version of the build there were a lot more particles flowing out, but they made the game crash at 18-19 waves)
Good and fun art and gameplay. At the beginning, map is small and enemies are fast. UI could be much better. But it was an interesting experience. Good job.
Thank you for your feedback!
We are going to change UI in the release version of the game
Very neat take on a roguelite that has a lot of potential. The traps and upgrades give you interesting gameplay decisions, and the lofi visuals are quite charming. Good work. The biggest complaint I have is that the UI is really rough.
Thanks for playing our game!
UI is a problem that we understand, but this was the first jam we participated in, so time management was really scuffed
Love the pixel art filter. Music and sound effects are great. Overall I had a great time playing it! I will say though, it wasn't completely obvious at first how to expand the map. I think it would really help if the border highlighted green when you hovered over it. One way I think you could make the premise a little more interesting is by allowing the player to choose different environments whenever they expand the map, kind of like a lava tile or an ice tile that changes the environment in some way. I give it a 4, 4, 4. Also, awesome name for the game.
Thanks for your Idea!
Pretty cool concept and idea, especially kudos for the creativity aspect of expanding stage on this one. As a visual designer myself, I think the scale of some elements is too big and the UI color is not really easy to the eyes. I get confused at first before I realized that I need to strategically choose the card not just random pew pew lmao. Good job on the game!
Thanks for your review!
We left small changes (like UI) to the last minute and made it not that good. But I am really happy that the main Idea of the game and the gameplay loop was up to our standarts of quality. We tried to provide stressful and interesting gameplay for the rogue-like lovers
LOUD SHOTGUN NOISES
Really enjoying the arena building in this game, so good job~
Thank you for enjoying the game!
Actually I plan on making arena building even more skillful in the future, so stick up and you'll find out!
I like this idea of creating your own roguelite where you set the difficulty and also make the arena as you go a pretty unique idea!
Glad you liked our game!
I really enjoyed this game, The loop was very fun, and with a bit of visual polish this game could be a full release! great job for 96 hours :)
Thank you for your kind words!
This was my first time I ever touched graphics in any games. Gonna pay an actual artist to make this game actually visually appealing
Whoa! Great job for first graphics as well :)
Cool concept! A reverse tower defense isn't something I was expecting. I think you've got something here; definitely worth exploring as a fully developed game if you're willing!
Thanks for kind words!
Yeah, we are collecting feedback to continue working on this game in the future, I think this one can be something on the level of Nuclear Throne (With a lot more polishing of course)
Nice game! I made it to wave 5. I wish there was a way to open the buff window after closing it. I closed it once to buy expansions first, but then couldn't find a way to re-open it.
Thanks for your feedback!
I think we thought about this problem at some point of the development but it got foreshadowed by even bigger problems with balance and UI. Gonna put it in our ToDo list tho
Great game! I love the concept and style!
Thank you!
We will continue working on this game in the future!
Disorienting! It changes the conventions of the genre, with some nice twists :)
It might require some additional work on balance, but the idea is really nice.
Thanks for your feedback!
Yeah, the balance is more on the hardcore side right now but with are planning to change it in the release version that we're currently working on
Very cool game! Although I was confused for the first 10 minutes (it took me a while to realize that the traps were against me). It's just too much information at once. But once I got the hang of it, I realy enjoyed the game! Gameplay is fun and addictive, good visuals and sound. Just a well made game overall!
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for feedback, tutorial is on TODO list for the next jam/this game if we will continue development xD
It took me a bit to understand what was happening, it's a lot of information! Good job with this though, it does turn out to be pretty fun.
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it.
Will make some framework for tutorials, cause this game lacks it really much and ideas only get more complicated xD
Fun wave defense game! Being able to buy expansion upgrades to expand the scale of the playing field along with various buffs after every round felt addicting. I would say you probably should try to make it clear on how to make use of the expansion system cause I felt a bit loss trying to navigate on what to do.
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it.
Yeah, this game needs a good tutorial, it is a bit confusing on how to use things for first 5-10 minutes, we didn't have time to make it unfortunately. Gonna make a tutorials for other small projects sometime soon, to learn how to do them fast, thanks for feedback!
Always love a good wave defense game. This has really tight mechanics. The only feedback I have would be to make the transition from the end of round to upgrade screen a little less abrupt.
Thanks for playing! Will make smoother transition next jam, thanks for feedback!
Fun game. I like the idea of buying land tiles and setting up your own plan for managing the flow. When the turret was introduced it took me a second to figure out how to use things, but once it clicked I got moving a bit faster and easier.
One small thing - buying upgrades seems to not block the mouse, so I accidentally bought some expansions too. Not a huge problem though
Thanks for playing! Glad the you liked it.
I thought I locked the expansions when you choose buffs, but turned out I did not do that xD
Nice game ;)
Thanks for playing!
Took me a second to understand the concept, but it's a very neat game loop after that!
Thanks for playing!
cute and fun game i really liked how you used the scale aspect i enjoyed being a jester with a shotgun
Thanks for playing!
