This is a really neat concept, especially if you had another player to play against.

Beautiful game, has a LOT of potential! I definitly love your game designs haha. I like that you can impact on your cards and the opposant ones, and the tri-color system is effective and made me plan turns ahead to win as fast as possible (turns out building one huge unit might be the way to go!).

Do you plan to work more on this?

Hey Clement. Thank you for the kind words. I do also think this idea has some potential, but i dont know if i plan on expanding on it. I was happy i could finish it during the jam. Originally i planned to include a better progression system (unlock keywords as you go), distinct boss fights (like they use a specific deck you can then counter) and a few more keywords. But as usual the time as a solo dev during a jam is just to limited :D Still i feel like it is at a pretty good state for a jam game. Nothing is missing from what i deemed important.

Yeah, no pressure to go on on this if you don't plan to, but I always like to emphasize on the fact that the game would make a good fleshed out game, as a way to point at its qualities :) And I agree, for a quasi-solo jam, this is more than enought, tbh I find it impressive even in term of content/quality!

Hey G0ldent0y ! I remember the sick rhythm shooter game you did last year !
This card game has a pretty interesting concept ! I have to say the first phase where you select your cards is a bit tedious, making a deck of 15 cards is a bit long especially when you don't really know what is good or not. I think it would be more fun to get a default deck and change it as you play.

The colors system is pretty interesting, as others sad it seems like it's not always working properly, but I like the design philosophy ! I think it could become something really cool with some balancing and debug work !

Developer

Glad to hear that you remember my entry, i definitely remember yours too. It might make you happy to hear, that i still work on a full title based on the core concept of last years game (though i changed it quite a lot, its now more an action oriented top down action RPG where your moves are executed to the beat, i completely removed the sequencing your own shoots part),

Thank you for playing my game. As i said to Clement, i planned on a better progression system initially, where you unlock key words as you go, to better familiarize you. But i had to downsize a bit during the jam due to the time constraints. And yeah i think i noticed the bug with the color system too. Havnt looked into it yet. So far you are the only one that noticed ;)

Interesting game, I liked the concepts but the per-turn colour bonuses appear to be broken.

Developer

well, playtesting for balance isnt always easy in jams. I came up with the color powers on the spot and was just happy to have them implemented during the jam. I never actually tested them :D

Very cool and enjoyable. Could see it being fleshed out with more card types/combinations etc. Subtract attack for the win

Developer

Maybe i will  revisit it someday. But i think its a fairly rounded package for a jam game for now. Thanks for playing.
