A simple yet interesting concept!
With some refinement it could make a great mobile game!
Thanks! I wonder how the controls would translate to touch input… i might just try it out post-jam…
I find games which you only control with mouse movements and no buttons interesting, because they usually have you controlling them in really unique ways which are unintuitive but still very possible to master. I definitely think I could've become good at controlling this if I'd played it for long enough, and that feeling of mastery could be really satisfying. I think if there was more to this game to actually motivate you to do that, then it could be good. If you weren't restricted by the time limit then you could've made levels for it instead of making it more arcade-style, which might've been better at getting players to master the controls. Because as it is now, a player would just go "I'm bad at this, this is the best score I'm gonna get, so I give up".
Thx for the detailed feedback, much appreciated! After a few comments regarding level design i honestly feel the urge to try it out post-jam :)
Don't be so hard on yourself, it's actually pretty fun! I especially like the idea that you can collect the yellow things with the ball, but can't touch them yourself! Overalll, I liked it :D
Thanks a lot, much appreciated! I think I was a bit hard to myself in the description because I had two failed ideas, was just about to leave the jam and then said to myself: **** it, I‘ll just join to balls together and call it a day :)
It's actually not that bad... often simple games turning into the games where you really can start developing strategy to really master the game. Also a bit more advanced level design would make it cooler I can feel that playing it I want to play it again because you think "damn I can do it better"... :-)
Thanks! I will have to play yours as soon as I get home just because the word play and the thumbnail are just irresistable :)
Based on your comments I liked your game more than you did! I like that gold hurts one. It makes for a nice dynamic. Also you can have many different strategies. You can swing the ball round, drag it, or even push it forward and use it as a shield!
Great, you found the ‚shielding strategy‘ :) I never thought of it beforehand but discovered it myself while playtesting :) Thanks for playing and for the kind words!
This was a really cool idea, loved playing it! With a bit more refinement to the block spawning system, this would make an excellent game I could play for hours. Great work!
Thank you so much, you‘re too kind :)
Cool mechanic. Would be cool with some predefined levels. Great work!
Thanks! Yes I think that would be the first improvement on my list :)
I like that one player's obstacles turn into the other's treasure. Interesting mechanic, perhaps with level design instead of procedural generations it could become a game.
Thanks for playing & leaving a comment! Agree, the procedural spawning gets boring after a minute…
Good game. The gameplay was pretty fun. The art was good but I would change the colors because I think the colors were too dark :) Also, a good thing would have been if something showed where the next coin will appear because sometimes it can just spawn in your face and it is pretty annoying. I managed to get 20 coins. Good job with this game :)
Good points, thx a lot for playing!
very original idea and i dig the music. It can get very hard when you are surrounded blocks and it is not very fun to read before playing.
Thanks for the feedback! I agree, you came here to play not to read :) let‘s just say writing it down was the quick & dirty way…
