I love the idea, fun!
Thanks!! :D :3
i love interactive fiction, good job
Thanks! :D :D
Great work! I love seeing creative narrative games in jams. I love the way the background, font, and overall writing style changes based on the character
Thanks!! I'm super glad you noticed the writing style changing, was a challenge! :3
This is really great work. Good game and good story.
Thanks!! :D :D
I like the font.
LOL thanks!
I did not expect to be driven to tears so early in the morning.. Exceptional work, well done.
Aaaawww *hugs*
Thanks so much, it means a lot! <3
I really loved this game. Absolutely beautiful, and the game was a whole lot of fun. Thank you
Aaaaww thank youuu <3
i love this we got four narratives about friendship, love, and gender from four friends who all burn their past grievances into a fire and move on :3 it made me so happy to read it! love how each person has a different font/coloring/style of writing too! just awesome the things people can do with twine.
GASP! You! I found your games years ago and had even written an article about them but then completely lost track of you! I loved your work! <3
Thanks so much for your words! <3 <3 I'm happy you liked my story :3
I loved the used of the theme, sometimes is difficult for me to think about a theme in a different way than "a game mechanic" or something like that.. So these kind of games are very interesting in that way, using the meaning of the words instead. Sounds silly I guess, but it's refreshing to me! Great work!
Aahh thanks man! I always try to pursuit like "the metaphor" behind the theme in game jams! So that's how I end up with super boring games that nevertheless make people cry HAHAHA
This was interesting, I liked the call to the theme in it of the people joining to do something together as they each reminisced about something apart from these people but together with other people (well, except one :D )
The interface was different from what I'm used to - I haven't come across this format before and it didn't respond to keyboard, only mouse (and only clicking the specific words at that), which was slightly inconvenient but not unreasonable. I could wish that there were differentiated choices that reinforce the message, but it's nice as-is too. Cheers ^_^
Thanks!! :D
Hehe it's made in an engine called Twine, it's very good to do text games or "visual novels" (or maybe, text games with images and sound haha). That's the reason of the format ^^
And yeah, I thought about branching the story so you could choose more stuff and change the story (right now only one of the characters lets you choose and they aren't meaningful decisions) but SCOPE! T.T hehe Thanks a lot for playing and commenting! :D :D
I definitely hear you on scope ^_^ I wasn't sure whether Twine afforded any options for allowing keyboard input or whatnot. In that respect, I had it easy using Ren'Py because of its defaults XD But anyway thanks again for the experience! ^_^
I was hoping someone would try making a game about emotional connections, you're the only one I've seen so far so congrats on that. Found the concept to be a bit vague though, I'm not sure how the words progress the story, it felt a bit random.
Ahhh hehe yeah, I didn't wanted to write a very complex story/characters, more like a small situation where you don't know much about the characters. And it's kinda like an interactive poem, so it's not really like you can choose what to do to progress the story. I did wanted to include more action and branching!! But between the deadline and the shape the writting took, I ended up setting to this ^^'
Thanks for playing! :)
It was fairly original and I can tell a lot of time was spent writing it, but if I'm being completely honest it just isn't the type of thing I find fun, so I didn't rate it super high. It didn't have much of a story so to say, so I didn't get super invested. I'm sure some people really enjoy this type of stuff though.
Hahaha it's fair! I know it's not really fun, it's more like an interactive poem/ art thingy :P Thanks for playing it! :)
