It was very simple, not much going on, just a little cool platforming game, well done but nothing too special. The art style itself was very cool, and worked in tandem with the little story you had going on, this child-like hand drawing style looks very cool and was done really really well, it was very fun to play through! Great entry, well done!

A really pleasant experience (by the end),  something that few jam games can claim. I think some formatting strangeness was happening for me (I have a weird aspect ratio screen) but the art style was amazing and I liked the "floaty" gameplay as it felt cohesive with what was happening somehow.

Developer

Oh, thanks! Happy that you liked it.

Overall a beautiful art style and story about friends reconnecting. The mechanics all felt good and I liked how the game ending was tied to the amount of damage you took, a great way of inspiring re -playability with drastically increasing scope!

If you wanted to improve, I suggest making the in game text also hand written. In addition I recommend making the colors slightly softer in the background to give the game more depth.

Overall, fun game! Check out mine if you get the chance!

Thanks for reviewing a leaving a comment! Yeah the text i wanted to changed it too, but i didnt had time. And yeah sure ill check your game!

That's the beauty of a game jam game, you can always go back and change things after the fact to keep building it and making it better. It's a great way to prototype an idea before investing more time in it!

Developer(+1)

Oh, yeah forgot to tell you. Im gonna be working in the game after the game jam. So yeah, stay tuned!

I really like the story and the artstyle chosen! I think it still needs a bit of polishing - the background looked quite blurry on my computer, and some text used a very default-looking font which clashed a bit with the drawed style of the game. Unlike some other comments, I actually found the floaty-like jumps very fun! :)

Developer

Thanks, yeah. Some text was default looking. Because i didnt had time to change to the font my partner did. Thanks for taking your time to review my game :)

Lovely game, the opening is so sad though! The jump is very floaty, but I love the art style and world.

Congrats on submitting!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, yeah the jump is very floaty. But i didnt really had a lot of time to fix the gravity. Im gonna be updating this game, sometimes. So stay tuned for that :)

Would love if you could take a look at my game too :)

Hi AlxitoProggramer!

The opening story to this game is very sad! It feels like it was written by a heartbroken child, which I believe is exactly what you were going for. The story of finding your friend who you are joined together with through a deep relationship is really heartwarming. The platforming was pretty well done too!

One suggestion I have is to make the floating bubbles of the birds (or whatever those tree-dwelling monsters are) a little more obvious. I think I lost a lot of health without knowing why until I learned they were actually shooting at me.

The artwork is superb! The music is relaxing as well.  And I like the concept of different endings, although I was only able to get Bad and Neutral.

Great game! Good luck with the rest of the jam!

Best,

Brandon from TheIndieDream

Thats very long. But thanks. Im happy that you liked it. And maybe the sky enemys, where not the ones that where attacking you. Maybe it was some spikes that were in the floor :)

the art is great and so very matching sound effects.

the flying projectiles feel a bit OP but pretty cool little game

Submitted(+1)

and its not her fault that if i am having a bad day bumping into spikes

Developer

Yeah, my friends played the game, and sayed the flying projectiles were easy. So i made them. So much stronger. And yeah, its kinda difficult to see the spikes.

Pen Pal! Old Times! I like this paper-like art style and got used to it in a matter of seconds. Also, in my opinion, it would have been better if the player moved a little faster. Great game anyways! I completed it twice, with a Bad Ending and a Neutral Ending :P

NICE! Thanks for playing the game :)

Damn, the music can get on your nerves once you've been hit.  The aesthetic of this game is great!

Hey!, i did played your game, and i like it! , the art style is really charming and looks awesome, the platforming feels a little slow but it's really fun, i found a certain jump frustrating tho, near the end where you can hit your head in a floating platform above very easy making it hard and punishing since it sends you almost all the way to the begining, but over all i enjoyed your game.

Developer

Yeah, i wanted to change that. But it was kinda hard. And i didnt had a lot of time. Thanks for playing :) Im gonna be working in the game after the jam, so ill make somethings better!
