How does your game fit the theme?
The game had many different gameplay elements that are randomized, which makes it 'Out of control'. While this is a VERY weak interpretation of the theme it was somehting I knew I could finish in the time frame.

Did your team create the art for this game during the 48 hour time slot?

Yes

We created all art during the game jam

Did your team create the audio for this game during the 48 hour time slot?

Yes

We created all audio during the game jam

A pleasant surprise! Based on how you described your own game, I was expecting something awful and unfinished. Turns out, its actually really fun. While it doesn't adhere to the theme amazingly well, it was still an enjoyable experience to me.

A simple change would have made it on theme far more, if the player couldn't stop moving. That way you would have limited control of your character and the rest of the game would feel more hectic as a result, much like the original pac-man that you're emulating.

The art was fantastic and the audio design was perfect for what you were trying to do. The fixes this needs were relatively minor. The gears looked like they were part of the background, and took me dying at least twice before I realised that was what was killing me.

Additionally, the timer seemed to serve no purpose, as I was always respawned if it expired, with all of the dots in their same positions prior to the death. I assume the aim was to give the player a hard time limit, but it was either bugged or unfinished.

In any case, I totally got what you were going for, and I think it's a lot better than you gave yourself credit for. Try not to talk yourself down, you never know how much other people will enjoy your work.

Thank you so much for the really kind comment! I'm glad that the game was pleasantly surprising. The idea to have it so that the player can't stop moving actually makes a lot of sense! It definitely would've made it more consistent with the theme too! I will probably use that idea when I make a lightly better version after the jam. I'll also fix the timer! I've seen a few comments that mention how that's broken, so, I'm going to make sure it get's fixed =)

I will also try to not talk myself down in future games like this! I know it's a really bad habit, so, I want to improve on that front as well :)

Once again, thank you so much for playing the game and giving feedback! I'll work to improve on the gear problem, and the timer issue when I make the after-jam update!

Only 7 votes? wow! didn't expect that

You deserve a lot more.

In comparison to other games in this jam, your game is very clean, enjoyable, and generally, feels complete!

I like that you put attention to detail! A good stylish main menu and a few sentences about the game before it starts! A very nice touch!

Not a lot of people do that.

You should post your game in the discord server to get more votes!

You did a good job! Good luck in your future games!

It would help a lot if you would rate my game as well! Thank you \(^-^)/

Thank you very much! I'm happy with how the game turned out, and I'm glad that you liked it too!

I do think it may have needed more transitions since I know some things do seem snappy, at least to me, but I am glad it feels complete! =)

Also, I'll check out the discord! I didn't really know there was one '^w^. I will definitely play and rate your game too!

Not really on theme but the game is funny

Mhmm! Thank you!

Yes, there is definitely room for improvement when it comes to the connection to the theme! I'm hoping to improve that in the future!

Thank you for the comment! =)

It is a very weak interpretation of the theme, but it is a decent game, sort of a new take on pac-man!  Great work!  Only thing I noticed is that letting the timer run out doesn't seem to do anything.  Other than that, overall a nice game!

Developer

I will 100% agree that the interpretation of the theme is really weak. Originally the idea had more ties to it but over time only the randomness factor stayed, and even that is questionable. I will try and improve upon this for further projects!!

Also, I noticed this too, after I submitted it. I will try and fix this since I want to make a better version when the jam is over, I will definitely fix the timer!

Thank you for the nice comment!
