How does your game fit the theme?
The game is a dungeon-crawler where the player has out-of-control amnesia, constantly forgetting the way they came from and only going further into dungeon as a result.

Good job, but I would give player a goal, since now it s kinda pointless running through rooms. Also I have no idea what does the green potion do. Good job :)

Edit: How exactly does this game fits to the theme, I m not sure I understand the description

Sadly we didn't have time to add in progression to the game, however we plan to add it in future builds. The green potion increases maximum mana (and adds a bit). The way our game is related to the theme is the amnesia of the player being so out of control that they can't remember what they have been doing, and thus where they are going, causing the random room placement. (honestly, we probably stretched it a bit because we had previously had the idea for a game like this and didn't have high expectations of ourselves so we thought it'd slip under the radar)

Nice game, but i find it too hard to be fun or satisfying. You had a nice concept, work on it cause is really great. Loved the art.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, as our first project we didn't expect it to be polished by the time the jam was over, and we are working on improving it, and maybe making it a little easier.

Very engaging game! Graphics are cute. :)

Glad you like it! We didn't have time to create our own tileset for the jam but we're currently working on an improved version with more progression and original art, we got our art for this jam from https://0x72.itch.io/dungeontileset-ii

Nice, the game has potential! These wobbly characters from that pack are a good recerence for animation.

This game makes me go YES!

Awesome to hear that you loved the game! If you wish, you can follow us on twitter since we're planning on making this into a full game, with live procedural generation rather than room changing, meaning you'll be walking around in one big room where everything changes around you. We will be documenting as much as we can there, so feel free to follow us to get updates live! https://twitter.com/NomineGames_

Cool to hear that. I may check it out soon.

Reminds me of The Binding of Issac! It would be nice to see the option to rebind controls in the future! Overall great work!

We were originally going to have procedural generation, so that the play just moves around in one room that changes once it's offscreen, but we had to settle for the easy-way out because, well, 48 hours.

EDIT
We are currently working on a full-version for the game, and we just managed to get live procedural-generation working! Click here for the tweet if you're curious to see it in action!

EDIT 2
So, the game was taken really badly apparently, so we'll be halting progress on this game. We will, however, be using this concept in our next game.

Why so hard? It would be nice to have some progression.

Developer

it so hard because we so mean and we so tired and we not want to have to implement progression

Being a bit more honest, we wanted the game to be fast-paced, and we just got kinda good at the game while we were playtesting, so we just kept making it harder thinking it was too easy. That, and, progression just went right over our heads.

Developer

I had some spare time, so I implemented working in-game progression, as well as fixing a few issues that I came across. We can't update the game on itch.io until after judging finishes, but just figured I'd let you know in case you wanted to give the game another try when it comes out.

Sure, I will! That’s great news! If you were so kind as to remind again when it is available, I’ll gladly try it out!

Developer

Will do :D

Developer

Game's been updated! It's nothing much, but I'll give you the rundown on progression:
A) In the beginning, the only monsters that can spawn are zombies, and they're hella slow
B) A zombie's speed gradually increases whenever a player kills a monster. It's small enough to be unnoticeable at a small scale, but once the player has killed like 40 monsters, their speed is noticeably higher.
C) Another monster has been added: the troll. The troll will sprint at you and does a lot of damage, but goes down in two hits. This will only spawn once the player has made quite a bit of progress
D) The Green and Gold potions (Max Mana increase and Max Health Increase) can only spawn if the player is actively hunting enemies, as to make a better difficulty curve.
